Chris Vrenna remixes U2 for Tomb Raider Soundtrack, Also tapped to remix Xzibit featuring Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg
Updated 04.26.2001 8:00 AM EDT
Former Nine Inch Nails founding member Chris Vrenna, whose Tweaker project was recently signed to Six Degrees Records, has been tapped to provide additional production and remix U2's "Elevation," the first single for the soundtrack to the upcoming summer blockbuster film Tomb Raider (based on the hugely popular computer game) and starring Angeline Jolie. Vrenna enlisted the services of Butthole Surfers' Paul Leary as mixer for the song.

Vrenna will also be contributing additional production and remixing Xzibit's "X" single featuring Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Xzibit's album Restless is currently #33 on the Billboard 200 and is a Billboard top 100 single. Vrenna and Xzibit collaborated last year on the Tweaker song "Ready-4-War".

In addition to remixing, Vrenna recently produced the current Cold album for Geffen/Interscope (also on the Billboard Top 200). He is currently producing Artificial Intelligence for DreamWorks.

Vrenna's debut Tweaker project, The Attraction to All Things Uncertain, will be released on Six Degrees Records this September. The CD features guest vocals from two of Vrenna's heroes, the legendary David Sylvian as well as Shudder To Think's Craig Wedren.

Thanks a lot to: kelly.
