Manson Gives His Condolences
Earlier this evening Marilyn Manson gave a statement about being linked to the 2 killers of Columbine
High School just because they listened to their music...
"I have been asked to comment by numerous news organizations on the Colorado school tragedy," Manson said
today in his first statement on the tragedy. "It's tragic and disgusting anytime young people's lives are
taken in an act of senseless violence."
"My condolences go out to the students and their families."
Everlast/Danny Lohner Coincidentally Recorded a Song Similar To The Colorado Tragedy
Allstarmag.com music news website features an
article here with
Everlast about how he is a bit wary of releasing a song he and Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails recently
recorded which is eerily similar to the tragedy in Littleton, Colo.
"The song is about a kid raised with guns and he ends up killing some kids at school... I'm now hesitant,"
Everlast told Los Angeles alternative radio station KROQ Thursday (April 22) morning on the Kevin & Bean show.
Allstar reports that Everlast hopes there will be a good amount of time between the incident in Denver
Colorado and the song release, which is still undetermined. He described the project with Lohner, NIN's
guitarist, as a "Nine Inch Nails thing with guest vocalists." The one track was recorded earlier this year says Allstar.
Denver Mayor Cancels Manson's Denver Performance
Denver Mayor Wellington Webb had the concert promoters cancel the Marilyn Manson performance
on April 30th at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, because Marilyn Manson was a favorite of the Columbine High School gunmen.
The Matrix Soundtrack Surging Through The Charts
The runaway sci-fi hit "The Matrix" is taking the April box office
records by storm breaking over 100 million in ticket sales in a matter of a few weeks. But not only is the movie
doing so well, the soundtrack is taking a more serious assault on the top ten riding a sales boost from #9 to #7
this week, according to Soundscan sales figures released on Wednesday.
So with that in mind Interscope has decided as a last attempt at positioning The
Matrix soundtrack even higher on the charts, they have asked SeemsLikeSalvation News for your help...
Those who are familiar with Mtv's "Total Request Live" might have noticed that the Marilyn Manson music video
"Rock Is Dead" is doing extraordinary well
for The Matrix soundtrack; more than any other Manson video has ever done in the past. Interscope
representatives have informed me that they need the help of the fans to keep Rock Is Dead literally rocking the countdown
by your repeated popular votes. A lot of this is to position Manson for their next video "Coma White" debuting early
next month and to make sure it's a big single and not just a subtle, not often seen "Man That You Fear" example of a
video. When I spoke to Manson about "Coma White" early this month, he told me how very proud of what he has done to
make this video possible... I'm told big things are in stored and the only way these things can happen is the fans helping out a little bit more...
So those who are interested in taking action, point those browsers to the official Total Request Live website to
cast in your votes here.
More News On The Dope Show Remake
On April 20th we reported (read our "Manson To Redo 'The Dope Show' For Scream 3?" headline for more info)
that Manson has been considering redoing their Grammy nominated single "The Dope Show" for the third installment
of the teen horror flick "Scream 3" with the returning cast of David Arquette, Courteney Cox, and Neve Campbell.
MTV News is reporting that Marilyn Manson may follow up their recent hip-hop collaboration with DMX by hooking up
with No Limit mogul Master P to work together on The Dope Show remake.
According to a spokesperson for No Limit Records, Master P and Manson are currently "in discussions" to remake "The
Dope Show" for an as-yet-undetermined project, although an unconfirmed rumor has the song slated for the "Scream 3" soundtrack.
An SLS viewer talked to bassist Twiggy Ramirez about the whole Dope Show remake and has said that they are thinking
about it, but at the time things are still uncertain... More as it comes in...
TBG: One Pound Note Album Review
Here's a new review of "The Bowling Green" album One Pound Note from issue #45/Rockpile Magazine/April l999:
This new addition to the NOTHING roster adds another funky level
to its hyper-electro-pop. The Bowling Green, or Micko Westmore-
land, produces a tight and easily danceable product embracing kitsch
and futurism in the same beat. Tracks like "Astrkhan" and "Go Kart"
showcase some of the best The Bowling Green has to offer with a
happy tryst into techno-a-go-go. Beyond Westmoreland's penchant
for musical amalgams, he has also made himself known on the
other side of the entertainment world, starring in Todd Haynes'
The Velvet Goldmine, as the ethereally beautiful Jack Fairy, a
character loosely based on Marc Bolan and Brian Eno. So if the
mere musical mention of '70s funk, '80's electronics and '90s
big beats aren't enough to convince the critical masses of
The Bowling Green's eclectic presentation, his stunning visage
in one of the most chronologically convergent looks at the
music world should just about do it.
Thanks a lot to: crystal.
