NIN Secret Club Show??? UPDATED!
I was just told from one of my sources no more than 10 minutes ago that Nine Inch Nails is said to be doing a secret
club show tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was explained to me that NIN is to open for Stone Temple Pilots at the 'House of Blues'
in Las Vegas. I have another source that is good friends with the manager of STP who is trying to confirm if NIN is opening and
I was also told that STP was recently scrambling to find an opening band to play in Las Vegas, which would explain how
the odd pair up would come about even though the 'HoB' calendar
does not list any event today. It would make sense if a secret show were to be held that it would be a good idea to hold it on a day that no event was
scheduled even though this arena holds up to 2,000 seats.
I'm told the last secret club show that STP pulled off was held "invitation only," which took place at the tiny Dragonfly
club in Hollywood on Saturday, July 17th. Even the surprise gig at the Viper Room in West Hollywood on March 16th was held
"invitation only." I was also emailed today that the Chicago Alternative station Q101.1 DJ said last night after airing the
top 9 at 9 that NIN would be releasing 'The Fragile' on September 21st. He said it was an official press release (yeah right), which he
then stated to mention that he would be in Las Vegas for a concert with 2 mystery bands on August 12th. I was also informed
that the manager of HoB talked to another old source of mine today and mention something "cool" was going down at the House
of Blues tonight. There was no answer given to what was happening, but obviously this is to much to deny. There's a little
more to this story, but I'll have an official word about what the deal is some time tomorrow...
Press Release Coming Soon
Expect Nothing Records to have a press release next week. Preferably Monday about "We're In This Together."
Details About Tweaker - Vrenna's Debut Album
Allstar Magazine just informed me that they'll have an update

album is pretty much done, which he'll start mixing soon. The article will feature information concerning
some new collaborations to Tweaker, such as DC Swamp (Beck's DJ) and others... Vrenna will be producing Jack
Off Jill's new album soon as well...
Full NIN Music Video Details Concerning 'We're In This Together' Promo Single
As we previously reported yesterday. Nine Inch Nails recently shot the video to the upcoming promotional
track 'We're In This Together' (Read our August 8th "We're
In This Together - Next NIN Single" headline for more info) in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico by video director Mark Pellington.
We explained yesterday that the 'Daily Publico' or the 'Periódico Público' newspaper featured articles detailing
the video shoot through out the week in the section called ARTE Y CULTURA. Fortunately with many phone calls, emails and searching the net as fast as we
could. The time paid off and we eventually found that section of the newspaper in their online website here.
Instead of repeating the news already said on Wednesday's update and to follow the intellectual property law of copyright.
I only included snippets and rewrites from both of the original articles featured in the Periódico Público
newspaper off their August 6th and
August 10th stories which is translated into correct English below.
Below are just the facts and quotes from the production crew that wasn't included in yesterday's update.
----
Reznor stayed at house 61 of the street Nicolas Régules, right beside the Mexicaltzingo market,
where, from seven in the morning they began to bring in 50 extras out of 250 young men all dressed in black for 20 hours
of daily shooting to be featured in the video clip. Using them to descend from a ramp that marks the intersection between Independencia
and Hidalgo Avenue in Guadalajara, Mexico. The extras walked throughout the street and were filmed, while the notes of
"We're In This Together" guided the director, Mark Pellington, to mark the rate of the scene.
The video includes such locations as a house located in the neighborhood of Mexicaltzingo, a railroad station at the dry
lagoon of Sayula and the ramp on the intersection of Independencia.
The person who led Nine Inch Nails to film the video "We're In This Together" in Guadalajara was thanks to the fact that
the director chose the US production company called Cinesouth, according to Sergio Gutierrez, who works the video production
unit. Originally this company thought of filming in Mexico City but Guadalajara suited much more to what the director wanted.
The final shot included three movie cameras filming a crowd of extras in the dry lagoon of Sayula running wild towards the
director, while the sound crew reproduced one of the most climatic moments of "We're In This Together," according to the Periódico Público paper. They
wrapped the video shoot up with Trent taking the last take at 4pm on Sunday, August 8th.
The assistant Cinematographer, Sergio Ulloa, who has been the Director of Photography for several animated shorts said,
"It was a tremendous experience working with people of the first world and to witness that those of us who work in Guadalajara
are on the same level, though we lack the same budget." He continues to explain, "Never have I worked with 3 cameras at the
same time. I never have worked with 3 cameras that used up non stop cans and cans of film, while in Mexico for example, an
animated short would only use up 1 can a month."
Ulloa continued to emphasize that the whole video "was shot with natural light. It will be a very dark video
with blind people burned in a wagon, a very dark esthetic. What's interesting is even though Reznor is a
rock star, 95% of the people didn't know him. What I saw was that the video is about a journey in
which Reznor fights against his own fears, such as loneliness."
Gabriel Arvizu, one of freelance Mexican employees for the department of art explained, "It is incredible how the Americans depend
completely on technology, now we are accostumed to having things like coffee. We worked with a 16 millimeter camera and two others
that were 35.", said the editor that used a special liquid for editing, another for giving an end of the
picture and one final other for the texture of the picture.
Expect Nothing Records to feature a press release about this video some time soon. I am currently working hard to find when the
promotional single/video of 'We're In This Together" will debut on MTV and/or radio stations.
