Before the release of
their follow-up album to Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park,
who sold more albums than any album of 2001, are set
to release a remix album this summer, according to
Rollingstone
online.
"It's basically reinterpreting
all of the songs from the Hybrid Theory record," says
guitarist Brad Delson, "collaborating with a number
of different people in the hip-hop, dance and rock
worlds, and really creating all new songs for pretty
much our hard-core fan base that wants new music."
The remix album is due
this summer, and, although the lineup is still tentative,
among those helping Link Park retool their tracks
are Marilyn Manson, Alchemist, Jay Gordon of Orgy,
Evidence of Dilated Peoples and Canada's Humble Brothers.
Delson says the band is hoping to recruit Pharoahe
Monch, the Crystal Method and Prince Paul.
Despite the star-studded
list, Delson says that finding the biggest sellers
isn't the Linkin Park agenda. "It's not just name
people, but also people that you haven't heard of,
because it's about the songs and reinterpreting them
in a way that's artistically exciting," he says. "Even
for the name people, it's about the work that they're
going to do."
