Nine Inch Nails Delayed Again

Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile is "now starting to look very shaky for a late June or July release," says Universal. My source explains even though those months are a bit skeptical, the album is even looking at an August release! We'll keep you posted as new news breaks about the album.

BAM Magazine/ Manson Interview

You can find a new interview with Marilyn Manson here at musicuniverse.com. Manson speaks more about the meaning of their album, "Antichrist Superstar" among many more.

Random Nothing News

In the latest issue of the magazine 'Metal Maniacs', Mechanical Animals is rated the 13th best album of 1998 by editor Paul Gargano.

Thanks to: En1ty5.

I thought I'd mention since I'm big fans of this band and since I believe were the first to break the news, that Limp Bizkit's sophomore album "Significant Other", will be released on July 6th, says Universal. Apparently a great line up of guests including Les Claypool and Method Man to name just two. As well, everybody's raving about the first single from the album, which features Eminem!

IDLTD(BTDLM) Airs On Much Music Edited

Much Music the Candian based alternative source of MTV, has been airing Marilyn Manson's second video, "I Don't Like The Drugs(But The Drugs Like Me)" with a new edited ending. Much Music claims Marilyn Manson was the editor.

Much Music aired an edited version of the video for "I Don't Like The Drugs. There are many new scenes, especially towards the end. Instead of him running up the building and falling off of it, he just sings the words and makes some faces following a close up of the plastic Jesus head. They show a Christmas tree many times and a Santa Claus. Towards the last 5 seconds they show a road sign that says "end" and then theres people clapping like in the original. Much Music said that the editor was actually Marilyn Manson...
Those who have MuchMusic and are able to record and upload the ending, please submit it. I don't carry MuchMusic.
Thanks a lot to: sexlessape, riptwo.

Random Nothing News

Trent was mentioned on Howard Stern show last night.

Trent Reznor was mentioned on Howard Stern's show (on E! Television) last night. A supposed prostitute was on the show and this pimp guy from D.C was harassing her. Which she then asked him who was down there. She asked if Trent was down there for some odd reason. But then Stern talked about how all hookers love Trent Reznor because he's so moody and dark.
Thanks to: stacy, dave, trezin.

It seems more and more these days that bands are mentioning Marilyn Manson in their lyrics... Here's one more for the list. The new Videodrone disc (AKA Cradle of Thorns) on track 8 LSD (Lucifer's Stained Dress) mentions Marilyn Manson. The lyrics are as follows:
I'm not your mothers worst nightmare
I'm not your mothers worst care
I'm not your mothers worst nightmare
I'm not your mothers worst care

So wake up take me in
I'm not Marilyn Manson
I'm just a guy who's got it in for you
Your devil's worst nightmare
Your mother's worst nightmare

She might ask me over for dinner
She might ask me over for this
And she might want to make sweet love
On the side of your daddy's grave

So wake me up take me in
I'm not Marilyn Manson
I'm just a guy who's got it in for you

Your devil's worst nightmare
Your mother's worst nightmare

No New Manson Chapter in Paperback Autobiography

We reported on February 13th and 18th (read our "Extra Chapter in Manson Autobiography" and "Confirmed, Extra Chapter in Manson's Paperback Autobiography" headline fore more info) that Barnes & Noble's catalogue books read that the paperback edition, which is to hit the streets next month, was to contain an extra chapter:

Marilyn Manson's autobiography The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell, with Neil Strauss:

Shocking, candid, and finally in paperback -- the 150,000-copy, national bestselling autobiography of America's most controversial celebrity icon, rocker Marilyn Manson (with a bonus chapter not in the hardcover). Sadly Rollingstone posted new word about the paperback edition and explained because of scheduling conflicts the extra chapter never made it in the books on time. Here's their report:
Marilyn Manson and his co-author, Neil Strauss, promised Harper Collins an extra chapter in the paperback version of Manson's autobiography, Long Hard Road Out Of Hell, due out next month, but they never delivered, crying scheduling conflicts.

Manson's "Rock Is Dead" Video Will Air Before "Coma White"

We mentioned on February 20th (read our "Fan Details About MTV's Marilyn Manson FANatic" headline for more info) that the Marilyn Manson fan who won the chance to see Manson on MTV's FANatic, best friend contacted us and explained that during the interview Manson mentioned that they were filming Rock Is Dead and Coma White at the same time.

On February 21st (read our "Rock Is Dead As the Next Single Says Manson" headline) Marilyn Manson posted on his official BBS chat site, "Rock Is Dead will actually be the next single, coma white will follow".

I talked Manson's management this evening and they explained to us that it is true, Rock Is Dead was filmed the same time Coma White was and that Rock Is Dead will be the next single. The remake of the Kennedy Assassination will be featured in the Coma White video not on the Rock Is Dead video.

As we mentioned before, Monday we'll have 45 minutes of behind the scene footage of the making of the Coma White video which was shot by an SLS viewer. Tomorrow I shall be receiving some more pictures that were taken on the set of Coma White last weekend by another SLS viewer. One of the pictures includes a shot of Pogo and Twiggy in the front seat along with Rose and Manson in the back seat of the Cadillac convertible. (read our February 22nd "Coma White Video Details" headline fore more information) But for right now, please take a look at the all ready uploaded scanned pictures that were taken on the set of Coma White on our Marilyn Manson website here.

Marilyn Manson: Radio Revolution Answers

Those who have been following the story about Radio Revolution and followed the rules to win backstage passes after attending a Marilyn Manson concert should welcome the fact that you will be meeting your favorite band very soon!

As we reported on February 8th (read our "Marilyn Manson Missionaries: Equal Backstage Passes" for more info) Manson posted on his official BBS chat website asking his fans to call our local radio stations requesting our favorite Marilyn Manson songs to crush the crap that's on the radio today. We told you want to do and you followed the rules and you shall be awarded handsomely for those who were notified about winning passes.

Many winners have been writing me questions the past few weeks, which at the time I couldn't answer them and explained to check back at the end of the month. Well, it's the end the month and your answers to your questions are below. I'll be attending the April 3rd performance at the Patriot Center with backstage passes by the way. So if there are those who will be backstage that night, I'll see you there...

DEAR RADIO REVOLUTION WINNER
Here are the answers to your questions:

Question 1: Do I need a ticket to enter the concert?
Answer: YES you need to buy a ticket to see the show.

Question 2: Where do I get my backstage pass?
Answer: They have your Backstage Pass at the BOX OFFICE in front of the arena. You need to get your Backstage Pass BEFORE the concert.

Question 3: Do we need to bring an ID to prove it is us?
Answer: YES you need to bring an ID to recieve your Backstage Pass. They will be checking your name.

Question 4: When do I enter Backstage??
Answer: You enter Backstage AFTER the show.

Question 5: How many people are allowed to go Backstage with me?
Answer: This Backstage Pass allows 1 PERSON to enter backstage.

Question 6: Can I bring my camera backstage?
Answer: NO CAMERAS are allowed inside the arena.

Question 7: Can I bring in stuff to get autographed? (CD's/Pictures)
Answer: YES you can, but be aware that some concert arenas DO NOT allow you to bring stuff inside.

WE SUGGEST THAT:
You get there EARLY to get your pass and to AVOID long lines.
Tell Marilyn Manson that you are in the Radio Revolution.
Tell him anything funny that happened to you while calling the radio stations.
Since now we 370 viewers who won backstage passes and who also visits SLS News. We all will know exactly what happened at each individual concert. We will be accepting and will be posting reviews and backstage experiences on SLS News when they come in... So please let the world know what went on through your eyes, but remember... leave your lighter fluid at home kiddies!

Visit THE RADIO REVOLUTION headquarters: http://www.omega015.com/bbs.

By the way, a list of winners will NOT be posted because some of the winners do not wish to have their full name displayed on the internet. Those who have won should have been notified by now. Enjoy the shows and thanks for reading SLS News!

Plaid Interview

These articles come from a 'York magazine' called FAQT: Electronic Culture (www.faqt.net). The magazine features a large interview with Plaid also featuring a mini review of their album Not for Threes.

PLAID
Not for Threes
(Nothing/Warp Records)

What's up with Nothing Records? They are puttin' out the tunes these days. This CD gets my vote as one of the best CDs this year. Lush hypnotic textures pulsate and twirl throughout. Every time I listen to it I hear something new. A few Orbital influences but Plaid manages to reshape and mold them into their own sound. Mixing up some trip hop, ambient, world music influences along with a few other touches, this CD floats along like a nice surreal day. They even managed to snag Bjork for a track that was probably screaming her name to begin with. I love every song here and that's a rarity in these days where filer tracks are rearing their ugly head much too often. Buy this CD. You won't be dissapointed. If you are, you are TASTEFREE!!! I can't say enough good things about "Not For Threes" so I'll shut up before it gets stupid - Dj Mantra

New Squarepusher: Budakhan Microphone

The new Squarepusher EP, Budakhan Microphone, will be out this March on nothing/Warp, and promo copies have already reached some media outlets. Mark explains, "it's really damn good. it's jazzy like Music is Rotted One Note, but more song-oriented. great stuff."

Here's the tracklisting:

Squarepusher - Budakhan Microphone INTD-90312

1. Iambic 5 Poetry
2. Fly Street
3. The Tide
4. Splask
5. Two Bass Hit (Dub)
6. Varkatope
7. Gong Acid
also, the new Aphex Twin video, Window Licker, is out in stores (it's not on nothing, but i figure it's relevant since Aphex Twin contributed two tracks to Further Down The Spiral). the tape includes only the video for the song Window Licker, but the video itself is around 8 mins long and is pretty inexpensive. Mark got his copy for a mere $4. Marks explains, "video itself is not as groundbreaking as Come to Daddy, but it's funny as hell and definitely worth checking out."
Thanks a lot to: mark.

The Beautiful People Covered by Lester Bowie Brass Fantasy

Mark also recently aquired a CD called Odysset of Funk & Popular Music and it's by the Lester Bowie Brass Fantasy. The CD carries covers of popular songs by artists like Madonna, Spice Girls, etc. What's pretty surprising is that there's a cover of Manson's 'The Beautiful People' on it. Which Mark adds, "and it's pretty damn groovy!."

Mark explains that, "it's basically a brass band with some live instrumentation and the songs have a real jazz/funk feel to them. the TBP cover is a good 7 minutes long and starts with a wierd ambient intro thing, when it kicks into the melody."

When Mark gets the CD back on the shelves we'll get some scans and an mp3 of it for you all.

Thanks a lot to: mark.

I should have another update later this evening.

NIN Publicist Departs

Allstarmag.com reported a few days ago, that longtime publicist Sioux Z departs from the NIIN Camp.

in what seems to be a two-year parting of the ways between Trent Reznor and those who are closest to him comes yet another departure from the King of Pain's camp. Longtime publicist Sioux Z. of Formula PR has announced that her well-known resignation (the decision was made months ago) is official as of Monday (Feb. 22). She says it is "certainly a friendly parting of the ways, and it's been a long and interesting journey. However, my decision was made on behalf of my future with the continuous growth of my company, Formula. I wish Trent every continued success, and I am proud to have been part of his successful and innovative career."...

Coma White News and Scheduled Manson Video Chat

I plan on having quite a few on-set pictures of Marilyn Manson's third video off Mechanical Animals "Coma White" later tomorrow. I'll have 45 minutes of behind the scene footage hopefully by the end of the week that was filmed on Sunday in LA by an SLS viewer. I'll have more details to follow as things start rolling in. For more information about the video, please read our February 22nd headline, "Coma White Video Details."

We mentioned on February 10th (read our "Coma White, Manson Chat, Auction, Free Concert Tickets" headline) that Manson is to hold an online video chat at their official site, marilynmanson.net. Well, as we have been keeping you all informed... Manson's management explained to me today, which they also updated their news that the chat is to take place on Monday, March 1st at 6 pm PST. We'll let you all know when you can start submitting your questions to Marilyn Manson as soon as they set-up the website. Manson's management told me late january that Manson was to make some comments about the Craig Marks issue on the official site, so expect him to do so on the chat.

SLS Updates

I have a lot of updates that I don't have time to work on today. This week I'm more focused on getting the 'Coma White' reports up and running, but like I said last week... I have a lot of news about Rose McGowan. I don't want to clutter the site with Rose stories so I'm going to feature a large update on Thursday with everything on her...

Tomorrow are the Grammys... Manson is a nominee in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category for 'The Dope Show' as many should know. They are up against Kiss, Metallica, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant and Pearl Jam. We'll have video coverage of this tomorrow...

Rose McGowan has been doing a lot of promoting for Jawbreaker and also speaking much about her engagement with Marilyn Manson. So I have a lot of video, written news about this. I hope to have the news all set... She'll be on the Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno tomorrow by the way.

After this week is finished, I shall have all the news caught up. Sorry about the delays people.

Check back tomorrow for more news... things are tight around here...

Coma White Video Details Updated with more details.

Yesterday Marilyn Manson finished up 'Coma White' their third video off Mechanical Animals in LA with director Sam Bayer. Marilyn Manson wasn't kidding when he posted on his official BBS board 3 weeks ago that this is to be one disturbing music video... (read our February 9th headline "Manson Postings on BBS Board" for more info)

We had a few people who got to attend the set of Coma White over the weekend. Andy who received a flyer for the auditions last week tried out after he was asked too when he was at the set...

Reno an SLS viewer got to watch the making of the video yesterday and the day before since it's right behind the building where he works at 7th and Broadway. The video is said to be filmed in alley in downtown LA with "a lot of smoke in the back ground", says Andy.

Andy explains that there were nearly 200 people at the set. Only had 150 extras, but yesterday they added some more cause they asked him and others to be in it, says Andy. Manson's management explained to me on Friday that it was to take, "two 14 hour days" to complete the video... Andy was on set for 10 hours and left at 7:30pm as they closed the set.

Yesterday Rose McGowen, Marilyn Manson's finance joined him in the video where they drive a classic convertible car... Reno believes certain parts of the video will be in black and white since the US flag is black and white; Twiggy Ramerize drives the car. "Twiggy had stripped stockings [and] also on his arms. Pogo had a black somewhat dress [on]", says Andy. The rest of the band were secret agents. Pogo is in the passenger seat, while Ginger and John 5 were in the first Cadillac, says Andy.

The new video, Coma White reflects the Kennedy assassination that took place back in 1963 with Marilyn Manson as President John F. Kennedy and Rose McGowan as Jackie Kennedy, says Reno.

Reno explains just as in the real assassination you see Manson and McGowan in the back seat waving to-side-to-side as Manson gets shot (but not for real) which then just as Jackie Kennedy did, Rose starts to cover him and cries, claims Reno. Manson is said to be wearing a suit at this time.

In another scene Manson is on a huge 9 foot crucifix "making funny faces at the camera pretending to be screaming" says Andy. Next to Manson you see some "chick dressed in gray and you cant see her face cause of a mask and an old man, some other chick in a bikini type thingy and a really tall guy more than 7 feet!" says Andy. Reno explains that the 7-foot man is holding Manson upright.

Reno explains that there is also, "a mob of people wearing black and walking along the Alley they are dressed in rags and it looks like the Day Of the Dead which to me looks like a parade that Latinos have which is "Dia De Los Muertos" There were also about 6 Latin people in the Mob."

In another scene there is this guy who spits bursts of flames from his mouth as he walks on stilts, which "looks cool" says Reno. It's similar to the 'Sweet Dreams' video explains, Andy.

Look for the live video footage of the making of this at the end of the week, here on SeemsLikeSalvation News.

Please credit where credit is due.

Thanks a lot to: Reno and Andy for all your help.

so please watch where each one of mine lands

rock is dead will actually be the next single, coma white will follow

this bbs is being recreated to feature sections for each bandmember

Jack Dangers Interview: MBM

Coma White Details: Coming Soon

Coma White, the third video off of Mechanical Animals finishes up today in LA with director Sam Bayer. I've gotten a few emails telling me about the video. I'll have video and pictures later this week. I'll have the details up soon...

I have a lot of Rose McGowan news... Since I have so much of it... I'm going to save it for the end of the week... I have video of her on PI and MTV's Special. She'll be on the Tonight Show on Wednesday so I plan to have all of this then... There's lots of Manson tidbits/video in there as well... I just don't want to clutter the pages with Rose since she's part of the Manson family now...

Manson Countersues Ex-Spin Editor For $40 Million

SonicNet ran an article earlier this week (read our February 17th headline "Marilyn Manson To Countersue Ex-Spin Editor" explaining that Manson was to countersue ex-SPIN editor Craig Marks for defamation.

Manson claimed in a countersuit filed Friday, February 19th seeking at least $40 million from Craig Marks, who sued him in January, says SonicNet.

Marks claimed on Monday, November 23rd '98 he was attacked by two of Manson's bodyguards backstage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhatten, because Manson was angry about not pictured alone on the cover of their January '99 issue of SPIN magazine (a monthly magazine that covers contemporary music and culture).

Marks claimed that the two men viciously choked him causing him intense physical pain as he was held off the floor, but Manson's lawyer, Paul Cambria, told SonicNet earlier this week Manson's bodyguards restrained Marks after he suddenly took his hands out of his pockets, and that "it lasted two seconds."

Because of that sudden move, Marks was "in whole or in part" to blame for any injury he may have suffered, Manson's answer to the suit, filed along with the countersuit, claims.

"Plaintiff was engaged in an activity into which he entered knowing the hazard, risk and danger of the activity and he assumed the risks," the answer says.

Cambria told SonicNet earlier this week the dispute was about the content of Spin's Manson coverage, not about the magazine's cover.

Manson claims in his countersuit that Marks libeled, slandered and defamed him by filing an assault complaint with police, suing him and making various comments to the media.

But Manson's countersuit claims that Marks statements in the story are false and that they "were made ... with actual malice, hatred and personal ill will."

The countersuit continues, "Manson has been greatly damaged and injured in his reputation and standing in the music profession, in the music and entertainment industries, in his community and in the general public, and has been subjected to great shame, humiliation and indignity."

Manson is seeking a judgment of at least $10 million each on four claims -- two for libel, one for defamation and one for slander.

Davis, Marks' lawyer, told SonicNet he expects Dilks and Miller (Manson's bodyguards), who are also represented by Cambria, to file their own answers to Marks' suit next week. Davis said he doubts Dilks and Miller will file counterclaims, though.

The papers were filed in the civil branch of New York County Supreme Court, says SonicNet. As of today, no date has been set for a hearing.

We reported on January 22nd (read our "Miami's Online News Features Recapped Events of Marilyn Manson" headline) that Scott Mitchell Putesky (a.k.a Daisy Berkowitz, back in the Marilyn Manson days) retains the rights to 21 previously unreleased songs on several hours of early Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids demos.

Now since Putesky recently parted with Jack Off Jill and according to MTV, "lost interest in his new group and wandered off after receiving a multi- million dollar settlement from Manson." He contemplates about releasing his demos by Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids "on a two-volume CD set," says MTV.

Jack Off Jill has yet to find a replacement, but are currently recording new material for their sophomore album, says Jessicka, the lead singer who told Kraw (our source) at "the Viper Room" in LA last week (read our "Vrenna, NIN, JOJ News" headline from February 9th).

Fan Details About MTV's Marilyn Manson FANatic

We mentioned yesterday (read our "Updates On Manson Chat, Video and more" headline) that MTV selected and taped their winner on Thursday in LA for the #1 Marilyn Manson FANatic to appear on the show. An SLS viewer who is best friends with the winner wrote us this morning and explained to us what happened.

"I just thought I'd mention that it was one of my best friends that got selected by MTV for FANatic. He got to sing Marilyn Manson's 'Get Your Gun' with the band while Manson was listening," Ramsey explained. "MTV was mad cause he stayed so long, but he and Manson got along GREAT."

"They mentioned his friend '7' (yes that's what he goes by) becoming a roadie for them. Manson also mentioned making his own record label... and said that he was making videos for 'Coma White' AND 'Rock Is Dead' about the same time... this was JUST yesterday so all [of] this is current..." according to his best friend, Ramsey.

Manson's management explained to me late last night that it's going to take, "two 14 hour days" to complete the video(s). We have a guy down there now scoping out the place... if he gets back to us this weekend; we'll let you know the details ASAP.

They'll be backstage when Marilyn Manson and Hole come to Dallas, explains Ramsey. They got, "lots of pictures of the band and lots of other signed stuff," from the experience, said Ramsey.
You can catch MTV's FANatic every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. (ET). I hope to know by Monday or Tuesday when the Marilyn Manson FANatic episode is going to air.

Updates On Manson Chat, Video and more

News website livedaily.com claims here that Marilyn Manson and Hole are expected to attend this years Grammys. Manson's management confirmed for us this evening that this is not true. They first told us this last Friday (read our "Update On Marilyn Manson Video Chat and Other News" headline) stating Manson is not scheduled to attend the 1999 Grammy awards with his busy schedule. They aren't quite sure what Hole's plans are... but that's not our business.... We'll have coverage of the awards since Marilyn Manson is a nominee in the "Best Hard Rock Performance" category for 'The Dope Show'. They are up against Kiss, Metallica, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant and Pearl Jam.

We reported January 29th (read our "Who Is the Biggest Marilyn Manson FANatic?" headline) that MTV contacted people over the internet searching for the #1 Marilyn Manson FANatic. Manson's Management informed me this evening that MTV finally picked a winner earlier this week and it was taped yesterday in LA. We'll let you know when MTV plans on airing this special on their hit show, FANatic. You can catch FANatic every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. (ET).

It seems everyone is "hush, hush" about it. hmmm...

Jawbreaker Special on MTV

We mentioned on February 9th (read our "Jawbreaker Popularity Special" headline) that MTV was to hold a half-hour special today on the movie "Jawbreaker" (opens tomorrow, February 19th) starring Manson's finance Rose McGowan. MTV's special "Jawbreaker: No Candy Ass Special" aired many clips of the film as well as the starring cast detailing the movie at 5pm EST. The program also featured taped appearances of Rose McGowan and Marilyn Manson from the post-premiere party in LA on February 11th of Jawbreaker. You can check out a picture on our "Update On Marilyn Manson Video Chat and Other News" headline on February 12th.

Those who missed the program can catch it again tonight at 12:30am EST. I caught the program at a friends house today, that's why I can't feature any video till later.

You can also catch Rose McGowan on tonight's showing of 'Politically Incorrect' along with Bobcat Goldthwait at 12:05am. Rose will also be a guest on the 'Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno' on February 24th promoting Jawbreaker.

Manson Speaks About 'The Haunting of Hill House'

We told you on February 12th (read our "Manson Loses Part as the Villain" headline) that Marilyn Manson lost/refused the part when he had been in talk for nearly a week to play the villain in the remake of 'The Haunting of Hill House.' Today MTV News ran a report of it along with video of Manson talking about it at the Jawbreaker premier. You can catch their report here at MTV News.

MTV explains although Manson won't be in the film, he still has plans on working with Lisa Loeb who also had talks about a part. Manson told MTV, "I would like to kill her and film it and make my own horror movie," his could-have-been co-star, Lisa Loeb.

Marilyn Manson To Countersue Ex-Spin Editor

Marilyn Manson's lawyer, Paul Cambria explained Manson will countersue ex-SPIN editor Craig Marks for defamation by the end of this week.

Cambria said, Marks, who sued Manson and the two associates last month for between $1 million and $5 million in damages, has stained the shock rocker's name, explains Sonicnet.com.

Marks, who has been fired from SPIN magazine for more than a month now, (his last day was February 5th) "has been telling the world about an assault that did not occur," Cambria said.

Cambria explained Marks and Manson actually argued over the magazine's content, according to Sonicnet.com. He said Marks, whose hands were in his pockets, suddenly took them out, and "that just caused [Dilks and Miller] to restrain him. It lasted two seconds."

Imperial Teen Plans To Tour with Manson and Hole in April

We reported yesterday (read our "Monster Magnet Planned To Drop From Manson/Hole Tour" headline) that alt-popsters Imperial Teen, a band that Courtney Love is good friends with, asked them ages ago according to Allstarmag.com, if they were interested in touring together before Courtney Love joined Marilyn Manson, according to Manson's management.

According to Regina Joskow-Dunton, Imperial Teen's publicist at London Records, told Allstarmag.com yesterday that Courtney Love personally asked Imperial Teen, "for the East Coast portion of the Beautiful Monsters tour -- in place of Monster Magnet."

According to a spokesperson that told Allstarmag.com, "Imperial Teen is planned to take over for Monster Magnet on April 6 in E. Rutherford, N.J." Yesterday, Manson's management explained to us that Manson originally wanted Monster Magnet to tour with them the entire tour, but Manson was trying to be a little fair to Courtney since she wanted someone on [there] half of the tour.

Manson's management told me today that there is no official word just yet for this arrangement. The Beautiful Monsters tour kicks off Feb. 28 in Spokane, Wash.

Jaw Leno Speaks of Manson/McGowan Wedding

Last night on the "Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno" one of his jokes at the beginning of yesterday's show was about Marilyn Manson and Rose McGowan engaged. I quickly caught it and uploaded it, which you can download here (real video format). It's about 30 seconds long... it's pretty funny, but that's all it is.

IDLTD(BTDLM) Airs On Music Music

We mentioned on February 8th (read our "TooMuch4Much: Metallica and Marilyn Manson" headline) and on February 9th (read our "IDLTD[BTDLM] On MuchMusic" headline) that MuchMusic was finally going to air Marilyn Manson's "I Don't Like The Drugs(But The Drugs Like Me)" video on one of their "special" analyzing programs with Metallica's also controversial "Turn the Page" music video.

Yesterday on a MuchMusic special "TooMuch4Much" they did just that... finally airing the video after 3 months of delays since the debut on MTV back in December with some small not quite so necessary editing.

The reason for the delays was the Canadian based music video substitute for MTV has some problems with the message it delivered, such as the so-called "suicide" sequence. Here's what a viewer had to say about the airing of the program last night.

On Tuesday night MuchMusic aired one if its TooMuch4Much shows which included topics on videos considered controversial, one of them being IDLTD(BTDLM), which all of you know hasnt been aired on Much as of yet, news pertaining to that is the Manson camp is editing the ending so that Canadian Much watchers will be able to see the vid soon, which I personally found stupid because it was banned for "promoting or depicting suicide in a favorable manner". All of those who have seen the vid know that it does no such thing. Other than that news, it was basically the same old pannel of "know it alls" who cut down Manson for his "Satanist" views and that he's just cashing in bla bla bla, and was only backed by the lead singer of a Canadian band called "Rusty" who defended him with the artistic integrity argument.

Marilyn Manson and Rose McGowan Engaged

Today on Howard Stern's radio show, Marilyn Manson's girlfriend Rose McGowan appeared to promote Jawbreaker due to hit theaters this Friday, February 19th on 800 screens across America.

Rose McGowan announced today on the show, that Marilyn Manson had proposed to her on Friday, February 12th for Valentine's Day. She explained to Stern that Manson proposed to her in a "traditional manner" in a bathtub surrounded by candles to which he gave Rose an antique diamond ring.

Marilyn Manson and Rose McGowan who live together in the Hollywood hills have been dating for nearly a year and a half and were introduced for the first time at a party, explains Manson's management. They were introduced because Rose knew that Manson liked her and went up to him and said, "So I hear you wanted to meet me because you like me." There is no set wedding date, explains Manson's management.

Rose McGowan said to me during an online chat last month about their relationship, "Our relationship is heavy on the teasing on both sides. We are both very funny people with a sick and twisted sense of humor." Which would explain the compatibility she told Stern about each other.. She said, "We burn Furbies together."

Rose McGowan's mother, Terri Glidden told Wallofsound.com today via e-mail, that Rose had, "left messages with her sisters a few days ago saying she had something important to tell them." Glidden said, "that she called down to their house, woke up Manson, who said she's in New York." Rose's mother is very pleased with this engagement she explained to Wallofsound.com and that she was hoping they would get married. She then adds, "They both seem to be very in love with each other."

Monster Magnet Planned To Drop From Manson/Hole Tour

Hole was a guest on a rock radio show on Sunday, February 14th, called "Modern Rock Live" talking about their upcoming tour with Marilyn Manson and Monster Magnet, says Tom who was listening.

Courtney explained that "Imperial Teen" a band that she's fans of will take Monster Magnet's place half way through the three month tour with Marilyn Manson and Hole. "They're in the process of trying to finalize the deal now. It's probably going to happen", says Manson's management. The reason for this change was, "Marilyn Manson was trying to be a little fair and Courtney wanted someone on [there] half of the tour." Manson originally wanted Monster Magnet to stay the entire tour, but that fell through. Manson's management explains Monster Magnet may have other dates planned. The dates that Imperial Teen plans to take over for Monster Magnet is still uncertain at this time, but they are planned to enter the tour some time between March/April.

Dave Wyndorf, singer to Monster Magnet told Bikini Magazine in December, (read our December 20th "Explanation To Why Twiggy In Monster Magnet Video" headline) "Those Manson guys have been total Monster Magnet freaks since the first record. It's weird, man; they know every word to every song."

We'll keep you posted on the latest...

More on Manson Radio Revolution

The winners who are waiting patiently for the details on their backstage passes (read our yesterday "Radio Revolution Winners" headline) things are all set, says Manson's management. Steve over at angelmanson.com should know the details about the backstage passes in the next day or two. Manson is waiting for their "tour manager to set up the system for the entire tour" says his management. Once that is complete, Manson's management will update Steve and I exactly how it's all working. Stay tuned...

Results of McGowan Appearance

We mentioned on February 13th (read our "Rose McGowan at Instore Appearance for Jawbreaker" headline) that Rose was to make an appearance to sponsor her upcoming dark-comedy, Jawbreaker at "The Wet Seal" clothing store. Steve over at angelmanson.com checked it out even though we explained Manson wasn't going to join.

This is what happened:

I got a chance to meet the lovely Rose McGowan at the "The Wet Seal" clothing store at the South Coast Plaza Shopping Center in Costa Mesa, CA. I arrived 30 minutes early and there were about 25 people in line. She was to appear at 4:00pm. It hit 4:10 and still no Rose McGowan. The girl behind me in line started talking trash. Lots of mall goers were looking inside the store and asking us who we were waiting for? Then they told us that she was about to come out. She came out and everybody started screaming like crazy!

I made my way up the line and I caught my first glimpse of her. She was wearing a cowboy hat! Then it was my turn to get her autograph. I walked up to her, shook her hand and said "Hi nice to meet you." She smiled and said, "What's your name?" I said "Steve." and she autographed my poster. Then I said, "Have you ever heard of angelmanson.com?" she said, "The Manson website, right?" then I said "Yeah, I'm the guy that runs it." she said, "Cool, I'll tell Manson I met you!"

Then I made my way out of the store and thought what a cool person she was. Check out the autographed poster!

Update On Marilyn Manson Video Chat and Other News

The online video chat that we mentioned on February 10th (read our "Coma White, Manson Chat, Auction, Free Concert Tickets" headline) is going to take place sometime following the shooting of "Coma White" the third video off Mechanical Animals directed by Sam Bayer. As of today, Interscope is finalizing the chat with their "internet people" and Manson's schedule, says Interscope.

Those who are interested... and thanks to: natalie for the pic from the Toronto Sun newspaper. Interscope informed me that Marilyn Manson, Twiggy Ramirez and Madonna Wayne Gacy, attended the premiere of "Jawbreaker" with Rose McGowan on Thursday night at the Hollywood Galaxy theater in Los Angeles and explained, "Manson enjoyed it." Following the movie, Manson posed for some photographers with Rose McGowan, his girlfriend who she plays the leading role in the dark comedy. Then showing up together at the post premiere party at the nearby Hollywood Athletic Club, where "Imperial Teen" a group who have two songs featured on the Jawbreaker soundtrack, "Yoo Hoo" and "Water Boy" provided the entertainment. The first video off the soundtrack is from the Imperial Teen which they perform "Yoo Hoo" featuring Rose McGowan. The video can be seen on MTV as of today... Jawbreaker is set to hit theaters next Friday on 800 screens across the country.

I'll have an update in the next few days of the date that Manson is to hold the video chat at marilynmanson.net. I also plan on a having a few details of "Coma White" prier to the world premier of the video at marilynmanson.net.

Trent Speaks More of The Fragile

USA Today features an interview of Trent Reznor informing us all the latest concerning the new album, still tentatively titled The Fragile. As of today, 20 tracks are complete and just as we suspected (read our February 9th headline "NIN Release Date Delays") the release is set for June '99.

Reznor plays on 'Fragile' strength

By Edna Gundersen, USA TODAY

As Trent Reznor, the creative force behind Nine Inch Nails, obsessively tinkers in his New Orleans studio, he's beginning to lose perspective.

"I'm in the home stretch and there's this question nagging me: Is this fantastic or so self-absorbed that I missed the mark?" Reznor says of his upcoming album, The Fragile.

Rock's electronic Frankenstein had the same doubts about his last studio release,1994's The Downward Spiral, a critical and commercial triumph that cemented his reputation as one of rock's few remaining daredevils.

Before its release, Reznor was certain "it was the end of my career," he says. "I thought nobody's going to buy this."

A remix album followed, along with tracks on the Natural Born Killers soundtrack (produced by Reznor) and The Perfect Drug single.

Reznor also put energy into building his Nothing label and tech-saturated studio, further delaying NIN's album, to the dismay of fans and retailers hoping for a fresh rock catalyst. In 1997, Alternative Press declared it one of 1998's most anticipated releases. It never surfaced, so the magazine recast it as one of 1999's hottest prospects. It's expected by June.

"For the past two years, I've been trying to reinvent myself. I didn't have a plan, unlike the rigid set of rules I followed in The Downward Spiral. I let my subconscious go in an unpredictable direction. It's been a good learning experience."

And a lengthy one. He's finished 20 tracks and has another 25 demos on the assembly line. He's contemplating a double album: one instrumental disc and one with vocals.

"By the time it's sorted out, I hope it makes a pretty monumental statement in terms of where I'm at."

It seems the pop auteur has vacated the scorched earth of despair, guilt and rage. He's curtailing self-destructive tendencies and favoring observation over painful introspection.

"It's not as knee-jerk muscle-flexingly angry," he says. "It's got a newfound maturity. In hindsight, some of my music seems a bit juvenile. But if you look back and say, 'I couldn't beat that,' there's no point doing another record."

While he remains perversely experimental, abandoning song structure and cyber-shredding conventional instruments into unrecognizable sounds, Reznor claims The Fragile may be his most ear-friendly record yet.

"I'm less concerned with going out of my way to make it unlistenable," he says. " I'm approaching music as art, but part of my head is tuned into the hooks of AM radio."

Still, Reznor's capsule review is hardly conventional: "Imagine Tom Waits on a bayou filtered through a funk blender and slowed down."

Corrupted by technology, organic sounds are rendered alien. Distorted ukuleles and detuned cellos enhance a feeling of decay that permeates every track. Bandmates and guests add riffs they'll be hard-pressed to locate in the dense, manipulated soundscape.

"I play guitar on almost every track, and there are live drums," he says. "But never fear it doesn't sound like a band playing. It's very bent and at times claustrophobic. We went to incredible lengths pushing technology to do things it shouldn't do."

Prone to depression, Reznor felt revivified by the therapeutic process of creating music, especially after suffering a celebrity hangover.

"I got sick of the press wars, the backstabbing, the chart positions, the ugly side you never thought about when you started practicing guitar. I forgot the feeling of beauty I can achieve by writing. You lose that in the nonsense of being a rock star."
Thanks a lot to: adam, jon.

Manson Loses Part as the Villain

Marilyn Manson lost the part to star as 'the villain' in "The Haunting of Hill House" according to Zentertainment:

Manson Speaks More of Radio Revolution

Manson made another statement on February 9th on his official BBS chat website about the requesting his music for backstage passes to their North America tour kicking off February 28th (read our February 8th "Marilyn Manson Missionaries: Equal Backstage Passes" headline for more info) So if you want them, keep requesting "I Don't Like The Drugs(But The Drugs Like Me" at Radio Revolution.

Here's his letter:

I hope everyone had time to read my posts last night.
they are meant for you to learn something from.

the radio call-in system is beginning to work, so please continue requesting "I don't like the drugs..." I find it amusing to think normal people will be singing along to that and not get the irony. Lizard King and steve at angelmanson are in charge, so please help them find more missionaries. the names for passes are being filled in each city so talk to them soon.

another thing, if anyone wants to relay this particular statement to other newsgroups. 5 out of 6 Big Day outs were completely sold out and the one that wasn't had over 25,ooo fans. Just because one show went bad doesn't mean our headlining festival of Australia (we did choose our slot, because we were the headliners) was a failure. It was a huge success and I thank the fans who came to see us. We only stopped our show because a glass bottle cut my leg open and Pogo got a concussion, we weren't booed off. I wish we were. It's like the old days. That's rock for you.

Love and I am,

I hope to have a confirmation from Interscope on the set date and time of the show in 2-3 days. The chat will work just the same as last years when marilynmanson.net first opened. There will be a place for us to submit our questions at the official site and Manson will answer them in LIVE real video format. We mentioned last month that Manson was to make another statement about the whole Craig Marks issue... expect him to talk about it on the chat...

Marilyn Manson's official merchandise website now carries an online auction here. This setup is a little different though, instead of the viewers auctioning off their collectibles. Marilyn Manson auctions off their items signed by him and/or the band. At the moment, you can find 3 copies of the autobiographical book "A Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" signed by Marilyn Manson. The opening bid is at $100 each. They will be rotating with other items regularly such as signed posters, outfits, etc...

Starting tomorrow the official site will have a ticket giveaway contest for each Manson/Hole show. We'll keep you posted on when that opens...

Coma White Music Video Details: Coming Soon

As Manson announced on his bbs chat website last week... Coma White is the next Marilyn Manson music video (read yesterday's headline 'Manson Postings on BBS Board') off of Mechanical Animals.

The details of the 3rd music video will be announced later today on their official Marilyn Manson news website, says Interscope. The production of the video starts mid-February before Manson kicks off their 1999 North American tour with opening acts Monster Magnet and Hole.

Manson explained to his fans on the bbs chat, "we are making the most beautiful and disturbing video we have ever done..." We'll keep you posted.

Australian Cable aired a brief comment of Manson at the BDO concerts last month.

Channel [V], a music channel on Australian cable, I saw a brief part of an interview with Manson during the Big Day Out. In which he said, "I am bigger than Satan, and Courtney is Satan."
Thanks to: Spiderbait.

Rose McGowan can be found on the cover of "Maxim" magazine. She briefly mentions a party she threw for Manson which Smashing Pumpkin members also attended.
M: I bet you and Marilyn throw some pretty good bashes.

RM: The best was the surprise horse-riding party I threw him last year. In L.A., you can rent horses at night and ride through Griffith Park, then eat at a dive Mexican restaurant and drink too much. The funny thing is getting back on the horses. Some of the fellows from the Smashing Pumpkins where there--it was all people you'd never expect to see on a horse. I made them all wear miniature plastic cowboy hats.

Manson Postings on BBS Board

I thought I would feature this update that Manson posted on February 4th talking about his look, his sound and his latest video 'Coma White'. I highly recommend the viewers to keep up with Manson's posts at Omega015.com, where they are archived by a fan.

TO REAL FANS OF ANY KIND

I 'm very proud of your creativity.
keep it up, because if I can be a star so can any of you.

Let me tell any disbelievers, I'm not ashamed to be a success at what I love to do. If anyone thinks I am more successful because I shed my so called "goth" image or sound, you're wrong. I will always have trouble getting to the mainstream. I congratulate and thank you guys for getting us this far. I change because I like to be different than what's around me, when other bands change their eyes like I did 7 years ago (limp dick, psycornica, even my friend rob z.) or do goth covers of 80s songs (orgly)or every person I see has black hair--I just wanted something more interesting to me. I'm not saying I dislike any of those things (my hair is still black by the way), I just wanted something new. I'm inspired by things I liked as a kid and try to bring back true rock n roll. If it becomes a formula then fuck it. I do this because I enjoy it, my band enjoys it and you enjoy it. Hole? you may ask yourself. what could be more interesting? phony videos.com? yeah, and I was on the wonder years. dismembered acss? evolved...haven't you?

we are making the most beautiful and disturbing video we have ever done-- Coma White

my gift to you

Vrenna, NIN, JOJ News Updated

Kraw an old legit friend to SLS News informed me of some new information about "Jack Off Jill" and Chris Vrenna's debut album "Tweaker".

At this point Chris Vrenna's "Tweaker" album doesn't have a sure deadline... but as Allstarmag.com reported, Buzz the lead singer of "the Melvins" has recorded some vocals for the album and will carry other popular artists.

It's a fact that Trent and Chris don't carry bad blood between each other, but they have both gone their separate ways and they are busy working on their own projects. Chris in the meantime is still very busy producing and remixing for other artists... along with completing Tweaker.

Kraw also attended a 'Jack Off Jill' concert last week and noticed Daisy wasn't there, since he's in the band. JOJ are currently recording new material for their sophomore album. This is confirmed as Kraw talked to Jessicka, the lead singer at "the Viper Room" in LA. They were there to see Eightball (who shares the same drummer as JOJ) and Motochrist.

Also tying JOJ and Chris Vrenna's "Tweaker" together. This months AP has a promo CD of Jack Off Jills new remix ep. The first mix of "American Made" is done by Chris Vrenna although it's credited to "pod". Those who aren't aware, Vrenna got the nickname "podboy" from the name of some sleazy bar outside of Cleveland back in the day. As of today, he carries a framed picture souvenir of that bar hanging on his wall and has never been back since (although he never entered it in the first place).

Thanks a lot: kraw.

NIN Release Date Delays

Unfortunately Universal explains to me the release date for the Nine Inch Nails album tentatively titled "The Fragile" is hitting more delays. Based on info from some of the very best possible sources, we will be lucky to see it in the stores by the end of June. We'll keep you posted...

Jawbreaker Popularity Special

MTV is to air a half-hour special on the movie "Jawbreaker"; featuring a guest appearance by Marilyn Manson on Thursday, February 18th. Jawbreaker hits the streets on February 19th in 800 theaters across the US.

Thanks a lot to: Tito.

IDLTD(BTDLM) On MuchMusic

Those who watch MuchMusic as their alternative source for music videos are in luck, Manson's latest video "I Don't Like The Drugs(But The Drugs Like Me)" will air in the upcoming days... with some slight editing to the video. I'm told the problem MuchMusic has with the video is not the drugs, but the "suicide" sequence. According to management the new edit of the video should be ready in the next day or two which will feature a different ending with most of that sequence taken out.

Production of 'House On Haunted Hill' Begins

An email newsletter called Zentertainment released an update about the remake of the "House On Haunted Hill" recently. They explained the production for the movie has begun, Manson as the villain is still uncertain... I will see later this week about finding out if Manson is to take part... I highly doubt it since he kicks off his North American tour at the end of this month.

Production began on DARK CASTLE's HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL remake last Friday, and while it appears Elizabeth Hurley dropped out at the last minute, and casting of Marilyn Manson as the villain is still uncertain, others have officially joined Geoffrey Rush (Shine, Shakespeare in Love) in its cast... Chris Katten (Saturday Night Live), Taye Diggs (How Stella...), Bridgette Wilson (Billy Madison), Peter Gallagher, and Ali Larter (Varsity Blues) have all officially signed on.
Thanks a lot to: KingMob8.

Production Stages for Mechanical Animals the Movie

I'm told that a few months ago the scripts for Marilyn Manson's production for Mechanical Animals the movies is supposed to start in May. No word on the director, but it is said to follow in the footsteps of the great rock operas of the 70's. It should be released in 2000 the same time as Bowie's similar project that has been 30 years in the making. Keep it here for the latest...

Thanks a lot to: Jacofftrix.

We'll have an upgrade on our message boards in the next few days... I'm assuming since we have an enormous amount of users constantly on SeemsLikeSalvation everyday at the same time, the site bogs down quite a bit... It shall be soon fixed.

Marilyn Manson Missionaries: Equal Backstage Passes

Manson has been spending a few days lately on his Official BBS Marilyn Manson Board. On February 5th Manson posted a message asking us a request... Follow the rules and you'll be able to be backstage with Manson and his enterage....

Author: Marilyn Manson
Subject: MISSIONARY POSITIONS

I will be posting the numbers of radio stations in every city later this week. If we bombard them, we can help destroy their lame selection of music. I am looking for dedicated missionaries that are willing to waste their spare time doing this work.

We are capable of making radio stations play a song that says DRUGS over and over. Anyone interested keep looking here. I will compile a list of people in each city and I will guarantee back stage passes.

In the mean time you guys probably know your local request lines.
Hassle them for DRUGS

I will deliver you into the backstage promised land.

marilyn manson
The website is called: Radio Revolution It's at: http://www.omega015.com/radio/. It is all quite easy... fill out the forms to get placed and wait to see if you get a reply...

People will be put on a guest list to go backstage. The passes will not be mailed.

He is giving away just Backstage Passes and not Tickets to the concert. There is a limit of 10 Passes per concert that he is giving away.

TooMuch4Much: Metallica and Marilyn Manson

Controversial videos such as Manson's "I Don't Like The Drugs(But The Drugs Like Me)" will air on MuchMusic's "TooMuch4Much" on February 16th, '99.

Metallica and Marilyn Manson will be the subject on much music's too much for much on tues feb.16, in which is a show, which takes controversial videos, and have them analyzed by a panel of experts. The video's will be Metallica's prostitute oriented, "turn the page", and mansons "I don't like the drugs but the drugs like me" the videos will be played during the show at least once each. metallica's video is in regular much rotation, but manson's is not, because of "drugs" message.

NIN sticker seen on SNL, Manson Mention

In a skit entitled "The Black Angels" on last nights Saturday Night Live, there was a skit about Mary Catherine Gallagher that took place in a bathroom. There was a metal garbage can in the background that had a NIN sticker on it (the white one with black letters). The sticker doesn't really aply to the skit in anyway, but perhaps it was put there becuase it suggest darkness and depression; one of the characters, towards the end, starts screaming about killing a person. also, they had a sketch on SNL's weekend update w/ Colin Quin which they mentioned about Cher singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl (january 31st). They said how she was escorted down to sing by a young boy who was terrified because he didn't know it was Cher, but because he thought it was Marilyn Manson. Colin then went on to say, "Sorry about that one Marilyn."

Some New Scenes From Jawbreaker

I thought I would feature this article today because the latest issue of Alternative Press features a few pictures of Jawbreaker (opens February 19th) including Manson and Rose on the set. All of this and more can be found on page 56 in the "Vision Thing" section of the mag.

Jawbreaker stars Rose McGowan as Courtney Shane, the leader of the evil, Stepford-esque clique that runs the school. As Shane, McGowan embodies teenage beauty, feigned innocence and guile. When she and her friends Marcy (Julie Benz) and Julie (Rebecca Gayheart) accidentally kill their gorgeous and kind-hearted friend Liz Pur in a birthday prank gone awry, they attempt to conceal the death. Their devilish plan changes, however, when an outcast named Fern Mayo (Judy Evans Greer) discovers the body. Shane insures Mayo's silence by promising her popularity, and in a devastating critue of segregated high-school social statea, transforms the body into the stunny Vyelee. In the process, no one notices that Fern Mayo has stopped coming to class.

Jawbreaker is deliciously savage and funny, even if it's not quite as original, quotable and cruel as Heathers. With inspired casting and performances, the film features many winks and nods to classic teenpics. Purr's parents, for instance, are played by P.J. Soles, who played Ramones freak Riff Randell in Rock 'N' Roll High School and William Katt, a Carrie veteran best known as TV's Greatest American Hero. Cameos include an appearance by the Donnas, the '90s girl-group equivalent of the Ramones, who play at the prom and provide the soundtrack. There's even a cameo by McGowan's boyfriend Brian Warner, better known as Marilyn Manson.

One of the big joys, or headaches, of the year comes when we music critics must compile our year-end Top-l0 album lists.

....It ain't easy, and most writers do the best they can. Record labels release a lot of discs in any given year, and it's ludicrous to think that any one critic can listen to everything. Manson Walks Off Final BDO Performance Sunday

This article comes from the local newspaper in Tasmania, Australia. Triple J (the national radio station) also did an interview with someone who was at the Perth BD We'll have the transcript soon...

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson has stormed out of Australia after fans turned on him during the final Big Day Out concert in Perth.

Manson and his entourage caught an early-morning flight to Los Angeles yesterday after he was pelted with bottles and sandshoes on Sunday night.

His publicist Nadia Balzorolo said Manson had a bruise on his head after being hit by a glass bottle and just wanted to go home.

Ms. Balzorolo said Manson had spent the night in his hotel room before leaving the country.

She said mansion's Guitar technician had needed five stitches to a head wound after also being his by a flying bottle.

Inspector George van Rysinge, who watched the show from a police command post at Bassendean Oval, said Manson was struck two or three times by plastic water bottles, not glass bottles, thrown from the crowd.

"When the bottles hit him, they exploded and his was showered with water," said Insp van Rysinge.

Manson threatened to kill the bottle-throwing fans and their families before leaping off the stage to try to confront them.

Insp van Rysinge said the front of the stage was fenced off and patrolled by police and security guards so Manson was well protected.

He said one fan was arrested and taken away by police after a minor scuffle with Manson.

Manson walked off the stage 20 minutes into his scheduled one-hour act and refused to return.

Insp van Rysinge said police were worried the crowd of more than 30,000 would riot before Courtney Love, the lead singer of the band Hole, took the stage.

But he said Love won the crowd over by jokingly mimicking Manson's antics.

Perth radio talkback host Howard Sattler claimed the "loopy" singer deserved everything he got.

"His messages encourage his pea-brained devotees to challenge authority at every turn and if necessary to use violence. 'Kill God, kill your parents, kill yourself- they're his slogans," Sattler said.

"The old adage that you reap what you sow I believe was never more appropriate."

Adrian Belew Talks More of His Work with NIN

Allstarmag.com have recently posted their two part interview with Adrian Belew. He talks about his work that he did in February '98 on the new album with Trent. Here are a few snippets from the article:

"I did a lot of work on this record," Belew says from his home studio just outside of Nashville. "I worked on about 15 tracks. I can't wait to hear it, because the sounds were terrific. Trent Reznor is just really impressive."

Belew says with respect to their relationship. "He's very easy to work with, but he's demanding in the way that I think most people should be about their music. But Trent's always been very generous to me in terms of letting me try a lot of things."
