Trent Reznor Attends Cure Concert, Bon Harris Working on
New Album; Talking about Release on Manson's Posthuman Records
Rob Rohm, an SLS viewer, attended the Cure concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA and was lucky to hang backstage
with Bon Harris (former Nitzer Ebb) along with Roger O' Donnell from the Cure. "After the Cure show (which was brilliant) we were
waiting to meet up with some friends near the beer stands and I noticed Bon," said Rob. "I told my friend, who's a major
Nitzer Ebb fan, so he called him over." They both told Bon, which he said he was very cool to chat with, that they are
Nitzer Ebb fans, which they asked him what he's been up to.
"He filled us in on his production activities and his new project called Maven," said Rob. "I asked him if he had a label deal
and he said not yet but that he may be on Manson's new label Posthuman Records. My friend asked him what about Trent's label and he
mentioned that Trent was at the show." Bon told them to look for a Maven website soon, although it wouldn't be maven.com. "I
asked him if it would be a ".co.uk" address and he said no, he actually lives out in Los Angeles now."
"We never found our friends and we decided to try to get ourselves backstage," Rob said. "We ended up getting aftershow
passes and ended up in the party." Unfortunately the area where they were at was not where Trent and Robert Smith were.
"There was mainly crew," he added, "friends of the crew and Roger O' Donnell and the guitarist that plays with the Cure now."
Rob explained, "I was standing near the door and Roger actually came up and introduced himself to me. He told us about NIN
being there, which he said Trent was upstairs visiting with Robert Smith, as well as quite a bit about the Cure and that this
is the last tour for certain." Rob enjoyed his time, "but it was ultimately disappointing not meeting Robert Smith or hanging out with
Trent again."
Eric, another SLS viewer, over heard 5 different people say they saw Trent Reznor
at the Cure concert last night too. "I had pit tickets, but where everyone was that saw Trent was on the opposite side of
the pit where you go backstage." Eric also noted, "I know someone real well that told me that he saw Trent go backstage.
I also saw Jay Gordon of Orgy there."
San Diego Union-Tribune Interviewed Trent Reznor
Today's issue of the San Diego Union-Tribune is an interview with Trent Reznor
in their weekly entertainment guide, "Night & Day." Trent Reznor who spoke from a recent concert stop in Florida,
discusses how living in NOLA affected his making of "The Fragile," the dark side of his fame and about how Trent
realizes he is "not a well-rounded person."
Below is a blurb from the interview about The Fragile as to The Downward Spiral:
"'The Fragile' wasn' t based on anger, or the deconstruction of everything and tearing the house down. It was
based more on a process of healing. And the two years it took to make were the best I've lived, in terms of finding
spirituality, fitting into the scheme of things and attempting to be a little more well-rounded as a person. And also
in terms of (realizing) that I am flawed, and that it' s OK to ask for help and for people, when you need people.
"Those were the issues around ' The Fragile.' ' The Downward Spiral' was about self-destruction, and about assessing
everything around me and systematically destroying it. And then I basically lived that, and found that I don't want
to be down there. There is still some fire in my blood, but this was about finding a way to be better. It was an
overwhelmingly positive time, and couldn' t have been more different than 'The Downward Spiral'."

Trent Comments About MSG Performance with Manson In Latest
Issue of RollingStone Magazine
In the newest issue of RollingStone with Kid Schlock on the cover (to use Charlie's term) the opening story and full page
photo is of the Trent/Manson reunion with a photo of Trent Reznor giving the bird along side Marilyn Manson. The article also
features the publicity show of Trent and Manson on stage
with Manson's arm wrapped around Trent at the Madison Square Garden performance.
The brief article is great and calls the new "Starsuckers" clip a 'video masterpiece' and also features a brief interview with Trent and Manson
about the performance.
"When Manson came out for the end of Starfuckers," said Reznor afterward, "all I saw from the people in the front was "Whoa". Then we
kicked into Beautiful People, that was one of the best feelings i've ever had onstage." Manson wasn't sure if fans would forgive or
forget: "I expected the crowd to hit me with bottles, but they liked it." Reznor adds, "We walked offstage hugging, and I said
to him, 'I know this is cliched and jive and gay, but i love you, man.' It felt really great."

Further Information about Phoenix, Arizona Venue Change & Ticketing
Conversion, Including Official Press Release
We mentioned yesterday there would more info leading to the reason the NIN Phoenix, Arizona venue changed, and Michael, the
person who is hot on its trail, was given two press releases about the venue change.
"I ended up getting a secretary and leaving a message with three questions for
Beth at WAC," Michael explained, "so hopefully she'll get back to me on those remaining issues."
"A little while ago I got a return phone call from someone at America West," who
he left a message for him yesterday. America West confirmed that the issue with the old arena indeed involved rigging for hanging
equipment from the ceiling. "He said that general admission was chosen because they decided it was the best way to ensure that
people got decent new seats," said Michael, "and that no refunds were being offered." He also confirmed that WAC was promoting.
"When I asked about Concerts West being listed by some sources as the promoter," Michael added, "he said maybe they were overseeing
something, but he didn't really know of any big connection with them."
Last but not least, below is a copy of the press release with all the details:

The punk-rock influenced score, written by Dillon's friend, Zoe Poledouris, will feature Dillon on drums and some guitar. On the
movie's ending title song, "Chow," he plays all the instruments, and even co-wrote the song. Cecil B. Demented, staring Melanie
Griffith, Stephen Dorff, Ricki Lake, and Patty Hearst, opens August 11th.
Kansas City Star Review NIN Kemper Arena Concert
The Kansas City Star ran a review May 30 of the show Sunday night at Kemper Arena, and we're pleased to report that it's an
enthusiastic review. "Unexpected," Jeremy Doherty added, "because as I recall, none
of the Star's music writers had anything worthwhile to say about The Fragile last year." Nothing earth-shattering to report
differently about the concert, but it's good to know that Trent and co. are winning over folks in the heartland.

Halmi Adapts Monkey King f/ Nine Inch Nail Demon
Variety columnist Army Archerd reported today from the set of The Monkey King, a two-part miniseries currently
filming in Prague. Robert Halmi and Hallmark Entertainment are producing the project which will air next February on NBC.
Why should you care about something called The Monkey King?
Well, the Monkey King legend serves as the basis for the "Dragon Ball" anime
series. The live-action miniseries, which stars Thomas Gibson and Bai Ling in
the lead roles, will feature characters like Big Demon, Spectacles Demon,
Nine Inch Nail Demon, Pointy Head Demon, Confucius, Jade Emperor, Shu, Wu,
and Pigsy.
Besides Monkey King, Halmi is working on a $70 million miniseries based on
the Dinotopia children's books and a new adaptation of Snow White. Both
projects will air on ABC, with Dinotopia set to premiere sometime in 2002.
