Jerome Dillon Talks Tapeworm, NIN & More
Updated 06.07.2002 8:30 AM EDT
Jerome Dillon, Nine Inch Nails' drummer, swung by the message board on the unofficial JeromeDillon.net website two days ago to answer all the backed-up email he's received.

"I wanted to take the time to respond to mail that Iíve received (from various sites)... thanks for all the kind words...

First off-- yes, Iíve been writing and recording for over a year now. The NIN live record/DVD was a priority until January, so it's only been the last few months that Iíve focused on finishing it. The shape and direction has changed many times- but Iím excited about it being done...soon.

The 'La Mer' manipulation/(remix) was specifically done for nin.com after a conversation with Trent. Keith and I locked ourselves in studio b for a day with the idea of doing something that didnít sound like a 'remix'...I personally prefer it when a track has been completely reworked or rewritten in a sense- rather than listening to the same song run through the latest music software. We tried to do something that was in line with the original (in terms of water being both serene and calm but also violent and destructive) but musically different and bit more hypnotic than a 'remix'...

My CD player currently consists of... Outkast: Stankonia, Sneakerpimps: Splinter, T Rex: The Slider, Prince: Parade, Talk Talk: Laughing Stock, Bryan Ferry: Boys and Girls, and Simian: Chemistry is what we are.

As for tapeworm...we are all basically tired of talking about it-- with nothing to back it up. Trent and Danny decided to start working again a few months back and Atticus from 12 Rounds is helping to flesh out new ideas...I did work on several of the tracks--but they were the basic ideas with Trent playing bass and programming and me playing drums...

As far as NIN.... there are new songs and ideas that were worked on with Alan Moulder and Dave Ogilvie...and I really like the direction it's heading...very brutal and stripped down...

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time...
...........................................Jerome."

Thanks a lot to: 'JAKE'
