Trent is to Remix
Victory
It's confirmed that Trent Reznor will remix Puffy's
next single, "Victory" along with Goldie. The single is said to be
released sometime in April... Details below...
Puffy Teams With DeVito, Hopper For Video; Reznor,
Goldie Remix Him Puffy Combs
Puffy Combs, who has just two dates of the
latest leg of his "No Way Out" tour under his belt, will
continue to
flaunt his penchant for odd-ball parings with the arrival of his next
single.
The rapper has teamed with Danny DeVito and Dennis Hopper to
shoot his
next video, which will be for the song "Victory." You might
recall
that Puffy and DeVito presented a Grammy together at last month's
ceremony.
Meanwhile, Trent Reznor and Goldie will release
remixes of "Victory"
later in April. As we reported last month (see
"Puffy Remixed By Reznor,
Deftones, Mascis"), Anthrax, the
Deftones and Dinosaur Jr. mastermind J Mascis have
also remixed the
track, but it's not yet known if they will be released. Puffy's "No Way
Out" tour
plays New York's Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
When this is to be released. I will have audio and
video captures from
the new 'Victory' video for display...

Rob Halford Speaks of
Trent
With the new 'Two' album that was premiered yesterday
March the 10th. Reports about Rob Halford's band is
making the news.
Here's what Mtv Online had to say...
Former Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford returns to record stores this
week with his latest musical concoction, the industrial-touched rock
outfit Two.
By now, those following Halford's career know that he has
shed his straight up metal
leanings and teamed with collaborators like
producer and ex-Skinny Puppy member David Ogilvie, and Nine Inch
Nails maestro Trent Reznor, who executive produced the debut
effort from Two, titled "Voyeurs."
"He
just consumes
music like an animal, you know," Halford told MTV News of Reznor.
"He just
feasts on music 24 hours a day. He's constantly listening and exploring
and using his own imagination when he hears things, as was the case with
the original demos of Two. I'm sure that as he lived with them and got to
know them he was just hearing things beyond that moment and there's not
many people who can do that effectively" [600k Audio].
The fruits
of this union can be found on "Voyeurs" which arrived in stores on
Tuesday.
Skinny Puppy
Remix
Allstar reports
Chris Vrenna and many others are set to remix Skinny Puppy's long waited
album...
The long- awaited Skinny
Puppy remix album, which has been in the works for quite
some time now,
is finally taking shape. There's still no release date
or album title
yet, but it's due this year on Nettwerk Records.
Artists and
producers confirmed to remix the influential band's
songs include Ruby,
Josh Wink, Chris Vrenna, Autechre, Rhys
Fulber (formerly of Front
Line Assembly), Adrian Sherwood, and possibly
GonsterMacher. Fulber
chose "Worluck," Sherwood picked
"Tin Omen," and Autechre nabbed "Stairs
and Flowers (Too
Far Gone)." The other artists still haven't picked
which songs
they want to remix for the 10-12 track album.
"What
we've been doing is selecting different artists, producers,
and remixers
that each represent a different genre or musical period,"
says the
album's executive producer, Jeff Antebi of Waxploitation
Entertainment,
a management company and record label. He manages
Vrenna, Al
Jourgensen, GonsterMacher, Scanner, Joey Waronker,
and others. "We're
especially trying to highlight different styles
within electronic music,
since Skinny Puppy has had a great influence
there."
Stabbing Westward
Influenced
Stabbing Westward speaks about their latest work
and mentions NIN and Trent as influences...
Well, the Cure nor Foghat they are not. The Dave Jerden-
produced new album --
their follow-up to the successful Wither,
Blister, Burn + Peel album,
definitely rocks, whether Hall likes it
or not. And there's nothing wrong with that.
The first single, the
tortured "Save Yourself," will likely gain as much alternative radio play
as the band's last hit, "What Do I Have to Do?" However, with all the
emotional pain and suffering
displayed on Darkest Days, it seems
the band may not be shedding those nasty Nine Inch Nails
comparisons anytime soon.
"Anyone who would would say we're a Nine
Inch Nails
clone is just retarded and should not be writing about
music, and has
obviously never listened to either of the bands," says
Christopher
Hall. "But as far as people saying we sound like them, I can
see
it. We're obviously influenced by Depeche Mode and Ministry and
Jane's
Addiction, and I think you can fairly say the same about
Trent,
but at the same time, I would have to saythat
[NIN's]Pretty Hate
Machine is one of my favorite records.
The whole 4AD scene in
the '80s all had a similar vibe, but each band
was very individual unto
itself, and that's what I loved about it."

Dead to the
World
The French version of the Marilyn Manson home video....
"Dead to the World" is in stores all over France.
The differences, first the box is in plastic, like all
the tapes in France (we haven't any of the US
VideoTapes paper-box in
France....) and so the cover is a paper that is inside the transparent
plastic of
the box (we can remove it). On the cover, everything is the
same! Except "Vidéo Secam Couleur" printed and....
the NOTHING CREDITS
IN FRENCH!!! everything else is in english.... I watched the 3 first
songs.... everything
seems to be the same! NO FRENCH SUBTITLE :(... and
the sticker on the tape is exactly the same!
Ok now, some
explanation: in US the video format is NTSC In Europe it can be Pal/Secam
or...
Mesecam???(not often)
Why? because in states the power is at
60Mhz and europe 50Mhz AND the TV screen is not having the same
number
of lines!!!!! Actually every new european VCR is able to "Read Ntsc on a
Pal TV" But when I do this,
the screen is more little... So it was great
to have a perfect image in Secam!"
I think most of european country
is using the Pal Format, that's why I say this is the French version (and
not
Belgium, Swiss, or Quebec...)
Oh yes, and when you see a Pal
video on a Secam VCR... that runs! The only difference is in the
colours... you don't have them if you haven't the right format...
Thanks to ninjaw.
