Nashville Pussy Joins Manson Tour, Monster Magnet Plays Gig, Manson On Stern- Updated!
The official Marilyn Manson website just announced that Grammy nominated 'Nashville Pussy', a band Manson
is fond of, says Manson's mangement will join their "Rock Is Dead" tour with Monster Magnet as of April 2nd,
99. Nashville Pussy will continue on through all currently scheduled dates, says the official news site. They are also billed to be
on this years Ozzfest kicking off May 27th in West Palm Beach, Fla.
And as presumed, "Imperial Teen", the band Courntey Love of Hole chose to tour the East Coast with Manson and Magnet has been dropped.
"Monster Magnet will be staying on for the whole Manson tour," explains Manson's management, "but they might miss one or two dates to other commitments."
While Manson has been resting the past 5 days after suffering a hairline fracture to his right ankle on his March 14th
performance at the Great Western Forum (read our March 15th "Manson injures His Ankle during Last Night's Set" headline
for more info). John 5 and Ginger Fish of Marilyn Manson were seen on Wednesday 17th at a Motochrist Show at a small venue called
the "Garage" in LA, says Chase Solovikos. Solovikos is the drummer of Motochrist who is a friend of Kraw's that works with him at
Tower Records in LA. "Solovikos actually drummed for the Genitorturers in 94 when they had been offered a chance to open for NIN and
Manson," says Kraw.
The Genitorturers are a south/central Florida hard rock/death metal band fronted by a chick (Gen) who pierces
people on stage. They were getting pretty big in the early nineties and were friends with Manson and Trent. You could sometimes see Trent wearing
Genitorturers T-shirts at his shows.
Those who've never heard Motochrist before they are like a cross between the Ramones and Motorhead. Also you can
find members of the now defunct NY Loose in Motochrist, "which opened for Manson right after Antichrist came out" explains Kraw.
John 5 and Ginger confirmed that evening there would be no refunds for the LA show that Manson had his accident at. (read our
March 17th "Manson/Hole on MTV News 1515 & News About Manson Concert" headline about the no refunds).
Manson is doing much better and "he's now walking around," says Manson's management. Manson kicks off their tour again after healing
up from his unfortunate accident from jumping off a stage monitor this Sunday, March 21st in Houston, Texas at the Compaq Center.
It seems Dave Wyndorf of Monster Magnet has to stay on the move too, apparently playing an "unannounced gig at the
Viper Room," which Kraw attended on Thursday, March 18th. "The Viper Room is literally across the street from where I work," says Kraw.
He saw a billboard announcing the show while he was on his lunch break that evening , which was how he found out about the unannounced gig.
"Twiggy showed up with some people I didn't recognize (pretty girls mostly) and sat in a booth off to the side," says
Kraw. It seems Twiggy couldn't help himself, but to have fun that night, "when Monster Magnet started playing 'Dopes
To Infinity', Twiggy couldn't resist getting up and rocking out at the front of the stage," Kraw said.
After enjoying the show Kraw says, "it was pretty cool to see him as a fan just thrashing his head around and jumping
up and down." At the end of the set Kraw got a chance to speak to Twggy just for a few moments to which he ask, "whether
or not manson would make up the LA show?" Twiggy's response was, "...um i don't know" and he walked away. "They also had an
aftershow party, which I suppose Manson could have been at, but I didn't want to make any more of a fool of myself by sticking
around," says Kraw.
In other news... Manson was on Howard Stern today explaining all the facts to Stern why Hole dropped the "Rock Is Dead"
tour. As usual Manson explained that it was not because they couldn't get along, it was because Courtney Love felt that
they weren't getting enough of their fans at the concerts and were sick of getting booed off the stage.
Manson made some hilarious jokes to Stern about Courtney during their conversation, says an SLS viewer who was listening.
Manson said the new tour name, jokingly mind you... is to be called the "No Hole Tour". He also said that Monster Magnet
is a big act, Manson is a big act, and Hole was kinda draging the show down.
Manson proceded to say that now there is no "hole" in the show, and the tour should run more smoothly now.
At the end of the program Manson explained that he is going to try to make up the three shows that he missed in San Diego,
Las Vegas and Phoenix some time. So there is still hope for those who have been writing me.

NIN News Updates
I'm unable to post any new information that I have concerning
Trent Reznor's latest work as well as news concerning The Fragile
until I can confirm this with Nothing Records. I hope to have a
news update in the next hour or so about all of this, but if I fail
upon confirming this tonight I'll have the information up no later than
Monday.
A Taste of Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile
Trent Reznor's follow up to their 1994 multi-platinum album "The Fragile" is getting massive attention as the most anticipated
album for the last 5 years with news slowly leaking out from the NIN camp itself and others such as what we have below....
A source of ours named Valkor explained to SeemsLikeSalvation News yesterday that he was lucky enough to hear a few minutes of Trent
Reznor's The Fragile a couple of weeks ago. "The track I heard they were doing some finishing effect work on is brilliant,"
says Valkor. "It was definitely up-tempo, but... when I say it was different... it's in a radically different direction," explains
Valkor who heard this in Trent Reznor's studio.
Valkor explains that NIN is definitely shooting for the summer and that this album will be one to remember, "Don't get me wrong.
It definitely had a groove, but that's the point... it *had* a groove," says Valkor.
"The man is a genius, and he's leaving everyone else (i.e. Stabbing Westward/Filter) behind to pick through his trash," explains
Valkor. To have a more of an idea of what he heard.... Valkor explains, "Imagine the melodies of The Downward Spiral," says Valkor.
"The guitar/FX work of Broken and the break beats from The Downward Spiral...with strings and for lack of a better word, a bass groove"
and that doesn't even scratch the surface for Trent's latest work explains Valkor.
I have a lot of important nin news on the way including more on Trent Reznor in LA. If all things work well, I hope to have it online
later this evening...
