Clint Mansell has been really keeping himself busy these past few months! Clint is currently finishing up Stephen Gaghan's "Abandon" soundtrack, which stars Katie Holmes (Dawson's Creek) and Benjamin Bratt (Traffic).

The Thriller, written and directed by Gahgan, tells the tale of a senior at an elite college (Holmes), already under severe pressure to complete her thesis and land a prestigious job, who must confront the sudden reappearance of her old boyfriend, after his two year, unexplained absence...

The film will be released in the USA on September 27th, 2002 and also check out this article via the official site, which contains info regarding Mansell's involvement with Atticus Ross of 12 Rounds on the soundtrack and more.

The World Traveler soundtrack, which is now on sale since May 7th through Compendia Records, is a 15-track release and features 11 tracks from Mansell, three tracks by Willie Nelson, a track by Ryan Adams and track from Tom Waits.

Lastly, but not least, once Mansell finishes his work with "Abandon," he'll be starting work straight away on "Sonny," reports the official site," featuring the directorial debut of Nicolas Cage.

"Clint met up with cage a while back to discuss the project," the official site reports, which tells the tale of a young man, Sonny (James Franco), living in New Orleans and trained to follow the family tradition as a paid male prostitute for wealthy women. However, he hates it and wants to free himself from this predetermined life and find something for himself outside the business, perhaps even in the army, but his family won't hear of it."

As well as Franco (who is currently starring as Harry Osborn in Spider-Man), the film features Mena Suvari and Harry Dean Stanton and was short in and around New Orleans. It's expected to be released in early 2003.
