Clint Mansell has been
really keeping himself busy these past few months!
Clint is currently finishing up Stephen Gaghan's "Abandon"
soundtrack, which stars Katie Holmes (Dawson's Creek)
and Benjamin Bratt (Traffic).
The Thriller, written
and directed by Gahgan, tells the tale of a senior
at an elite college (Holmes), already under severe
pressure to complete her thesis and land a prestigious
job, who must confront the sudden reappearance of
her old boyfriend, after his two year, unexplained
absence...
The film will be released
in the USA on September 27th, 2002 and also check

site, which contains info regarding Mansell's
involvement with Atticus Ross of 12 Rounds on the
soundtrack and more.
The World Traveler soundtrack,
which is now on sale since May 7th through Compendia
Records, is a 15-track release and features 11 tracks
from Mansell, three tracks by Willie Nelson, a track
by Ryan Adams and track from Tom Waits.

Lastly, but not least,
once Mansell finishes his work with "Abandon," he'll
be starting work straight away on "Sonny," reports
the official site," featuring the directorial debut
of Nicolas Cage.
"Clint met up with cage
a while back to discuss the project," the official
site reports, which tells the tale of a young man,
Sonny (James Franco), living in New Orleans and trained
to follow the family tradition as a paid male prostitute
for wealthy women. However, he hates it and wants
to free himself from this predetermined life and find
something for himself outside the business, perhaps
even in the army, but his family won't hear of it."
As well as Franco (who
is currently starring as Harry Osborn in Spider-Man),
the film features Mena Suvari and Harry Dean Stanton
and was short in and around New Orleans. It's expected
to be released in early 2003.
