New Info About VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock: NIN & Manson
We mentioned last week that VH1 is to hold a list of the 100 greatest artists of hard rock a week from today until November 17th everyday for a five-night series at 10-11 pm ET.
MTV announced that Nine Inch Nails was one of the artists chosen for the countdown, which the music video network polled an array of rockers including Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Grohl, Korn drummer David Silveria, Flea, Sebastian Bach, and Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler to determine the "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock."
VH1 informed us there is no interview with NIN, "but there are interview bites from a number of other hard rock artists commenting on why they like the bands on the list." VH1 added, "It is very interesting to see who is a fan of the bands on the list and to hear why they like them."
"Each band is listed off with a kind of mini tribute during which you see video clips, pictures, etc and other artists who enjoy their music," VH1 explained to SLS News. "Of course, we include a few of their songs through out the pieces."
Marilyn Manson also made the list as number 78 and Nine Inch Nails made the top 50 with number 48. Fans can check out the entire VH1 list of the "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" thanks to Angel Nikkolita Doof who snagged them from AOL.
