Updated October 30th, 98 - 1:10am Manson Video Premier for "I Don't Like The Drugs..." We've probably reported all the news that can possibly be told about Manson's new video, "I Don't Like The Drugs(But The Drugs Like me)" without actually seeing it.. but we have one more scoop for ya about the new video. I asked around yesterday from a reliable source at Interscope and I was told that the release of Manson's new video should debut around November 24th, (Thanksgiving) on Mtv. Expect it to be in heavy rotation just like Manson's first video off 'Mechanical Animals'... The Dope Show back In late August.

We'll have a lot of news later today.. I had a lot of work to do yesterday, so I was unable to gather all of the news intime and could only feature what I have up now.. We'll have the rest of the news up LATER today..

Updated October 29th, 98 - 12:00am More Manson News On New Video Here are a few snippets that appeared in the Antelope Valley Press October 23, 1998 last week. It definitly confirms our report that we featured on Monday. Snipets from: Belinda M. Paschal's article.. thank you. Manson, along with some 300 cast and crew members, was in town filming the video for his latest single, "I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me)." Production and security personnel were reticent to talk to fans or the press, keeping them at bay behind yellow police tape. About midday, crews obscured the set from curious eyes by forming a barrier with several trucks. One fan, Vanessa Ponschke, arrived to the set Thursday morning on the premise that the early bird catches the worm - or in this case, a photo of Manson. [which is featured on the right] The Manson shoot took place in a block of Carolside featuring several dilapidated homes that recently were declared public nuisances and authorized for destruction by the Palmdale City Council. The bleak, abandoned look was precisely what Los Angeles location scout Ron Abrams was seeking when he called last week, said Barbara LaFata, public information officer and film liaison for the city of Palmdale. "He called looking for a rundown, kind of post-apocalyptic area, where they could do some pyrotechnics, and this was a good area since the houses are going to be torn down," LaFata said. In addition to the rickety houses, the set featured some equally battered-looking Christmas trees, a large stuffed bunny and what was indisputably the video's visual centerpiece, a crucifix constructed from television sets which Manson shouldered, presumably symbolizing the burden of the media on his back. DOPE SHOW SINGLES :: Originally we were to carry 3 cd singles for the dope show. The Uk, The Dutch, and the Australian. We just got word that the Australian as of now is not going to be available for U.S. export because they only made a handful of them. So we are not going to carry them for now. We also found out that the UK and the Dutch are going to carry the same tracks which are Dope Show, Apple of Sodom live, and Sweet Dreams Live. We will not know til friday whether or not the cd will have any videos or enhanced items that you can play on your computer. Slight New NEWS on Vrenna Album Here's some new word about Chris Vrenna's recently signed deal to Almso Records... featured in the new Alternative Press magazine on page l2, Wire Tapping Article entitled "Flavor of the Tweak"... Former Nine Inch Nails drummer/programmer Chris Vrenna has signed a deal with Almo Sounds for his Tweaker project. "It's a weird, cool arrangement," says Vrenna. "The Tweaker thing is just me in the studio with special guests. {The record} will be different. I've been talking to a bunch of cool folks from various genres. Hopefully, I'll confound people." Shudder to Think's Craig Wedren has already done some vocal tracks for Tweaker, and the Melvins' Buzz Osbourne has contributed vocal and guitar parts, as well. In addition to wrapping up the Tweaker record {tentatively titled The Attraction To All Things Uncertain}, Vrenns will be putting together a band for a conventional rock project. "As much fun as it is to sit in the studio and be a geek, I miss playing live," he admits, then jokingly adds, "Did you hear about the big stadium tour? Einsturzende Neubauten Featured in New AP As Well There is a full page article on page l8 on Einsturzende Neubauten... There is one particular paragraph which mentions Trent Reznor: "As with all the best Neubauten work, certain tracks on the group's new, seventh album evoke the unsettling feeling that something strange and unexpected is on the way. Four years in the making, Ende Neu--their debut for Trent Reznor's Nothing label--is audaciously stark, stripped-down and introspective." Thanks a lot to: crystal. Prick Makes No. 90 in AP Magazine From the same Alternative Press issue on page 85: Prick is listed as #90: Caught in the shadow of their label president and co-producer, Trent Reznor, Prick were largely written off at the time of their debut as NIN Lite. For those actually listening, though, the truth was as complicated as the band's music and history. The studio project of Kevin McMahon, Prick had roots in Cleveland and an early-'80's mod pop group called Lucky Pierre. A pre-fame Trent Reznor once joined a reunited version of the band in the mid-80's and eventually signed McMahon to the fledgling Nothing label. Chicken-or-egg arguments arose at the time, but McMahon wrote off similarities between Prick and NIN as the mutual appreciation of certain vibe in music. Reznor described the Prick vibe as "an electronic garage band," and that description still sticks. Produced by Reznor and McMahon with a connoisseur's taste in distortion and multilayered arrangements, the sexually punning matterial comes off like the work of T. Rex's Marc Bolan had he been give the Bionic Man treatment following his car crash. An aversion to epic tours didn't help McMahon establish himself outside the Nothing nest, but he's currently holed up in a Cleveland suburb penning songs for an as-yet-unscheduled follow-up that should help him cast his own, tall shade.(Nothing, l995) Thanks a lot to: crystal.

Updated October 28th, 98 - 9:00pm More News On NEW Manson Video I'm working on a quick report about some more news about Manson's next video, "I Don't Like The Drugs".. We will even feature a picture from the video!! Stay tuned!! The Dope Show Single Scans Soon enough all the new Manson singles "The Dope Show", should be rolling in stores very soon if not already. The Weathermen tells me that the the Australian version, which scans are featured below; is the only copy that is being made... which in fact are in limited print, so get them now those who live in Australia. I'll have some more information on this later today or tomorrow. Just thought I'd tell you that The Dope Show has just been released here in Australia. It came out on Monday 26th although I wasn't aware of it until today. It's kind of odd, because it has a totally different tracklisting to the one you listed earlier as being the Australian one and also I didn't even know that one was actually coming out cause it had been delayed. But its here. I bought my copy today and here is a scan of the cd booklet and the ad I saw for it, the ad came from Beat Magazine. Tracklisting is: 1. The Dope Show album version. 2. Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These) live 3. Apple of Sodom live 4. Manson Interactive Manson interactive contains The Dope Show video and a couple of web links. The actual cd is a pic disk, it's of the Mechanical Animals cover and it's a limited edition. I'm trying to find out if the Dope Show video that comes with the cd is the unedited version, I'll have the answer later today. Thanks a lot to: gabby NIN Ranks Second In New AP Magazine New Alternative Press came out yesterday. They feature "90 best albums of the 90's" in the new issue... at number 2 is NIN's Downward Spiral. Second to Nirvana's "Nevermind." We'll feature the image from the magazine later today, but on the page is a oldish (pre-moustache-short-hair) photo of Trent, the original album review from 1994, and the following text: Nine Inch Nails is featured in the new Alternative Press Trent Reznor took time off from completing NIN's new album, The Fragile, to discuss the personal renaissance that occurred during the making of The Downward Spiral. AP - How did the concept for the album come about? TR - I'd come up with a good idea during the end of the Pretty Hate Machine tour when things got kind of bad - personalities were conflicting, and I was on a kind of self-destruct mission. I let many areas of my life get out of hand and started being an asshole around people. And I felt this frustration that I've worked my whole life to get to this point and now I can't do it anymore. [Reznor was feuding with his label TVT at the time.] There's always something holding you back and something fucking up what could be a good situation. And from that I kind of plotted out what I thought Downward Spiral would be. Musically, I thought it was going to be a real heavy guitar record, and when I started working on music, I found synthesizers and samplers a lot more interesting. AP - In retrospect, was recording in L.A. good for the creative process? TR - I kind of had a fascination with L.A. 'cause I'd never spent much time there and it seemed so ridiculous that there must be something interesting about it, or else there wouldn't be so many people there. It seemed like a good way to try the city out. Going there definitely changed the course of the record. It wasn't so much being in the Tate house [where actress Sharon Tate and freinds had been murdered by Charles Manson's Family], but being in this place that was like on the side of a mountain above Beverly Hills. You could look down on this alien-landscape kind of vibe but feel really detached from everything. And I found that I didn't fit in with people there. It resulted in a lot of time spent by ourselves. Looking back at that now, I tend to over-romanticize it for the sense of excitement and innovation and rediscovery of why I wanted to make music in the first place. For me it was convincing myself not to be afraid to try things, even if they're not the safe thing to try. Lyrically, I liked the way I said it, but I wasn't proud of the motions I felt on there. The things I was expressing felt a little too close to the bone for me. And at one point I looked at myself and said, well, at least it's honest, and that I think has a power of its own. AP - Did you have any fun whatsoever? TR - It wasn't all miserable. It was fun because [former drummer/programmer] Chris Vrenna and I were tight at that time, and it was like a little team going out on a new secret mission to try to rediscover the world and figure out how to do this. Aside from loneliness, there were no real bottom-outs through that whole time. I also discovered Timothy Leary lived right in front of me. We made friends, and then that was an excuse to do psychedelics, you know? [Laughs.] I figured, "I should; it must be meanth to happen!" Overall I look back on it as wholly positive, to the point where I go back to L.A., which I grew to hate, and I think, "It kind of feels like home here a little bit." But then I come to my senses. No Win For Manson AT VH1 Fasion Awards Manson was a nominee with 5 other women artists such as modonna, stevie nicks, sarah mclachlan, sheryl crow on Vh1's '98 Fasion Awards for the "Most Fasionable Artist." Updated October 25th, 98 - 8:25pm Manson Invited To Speak At Church Sonicnet.com features a new article today about a local Church youth director by the name of Chuck Henry wanting Manson to stop by and address the youth of Heartland Community Church with their thoughts in Kansas before their concert. Updated October 24th, 98 - 5:50pm Marilyn Manson Autograph Session To those who are going to the Toronto show on November 18th, make sure you stop by your local HMV record store at 333 Younge Street in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) on Tuesday, November 17th at 4PM. Marilyn Manson will be signing autographs. There was no distinction if it would only be Manson himself or the whole band... This news comes from the Toronto HMV itself, it was announced in the store this afternoon. They haven't put up the flyers for it just yet, but they were announcing all upcoming events and this event was mentioned. Thanks a lot to: daredevil. Skinny Puppy Recall We told you about a printing problem on Skinny Puppy's new remix CD "ReMix Dys Temper" featuring Josh Wink, Deftones, Autechre, Chris Vrenna, GLU among others on October 15th saying that accidently some Christian rock band was pressed on the album... More Manson Problems On BDO Festival We told you about Reveren Fred Nile (Australia's most (in)famous religious leader/campaigner) trying to stop Manson from touring during the Big Day Out festival on our October 22nd update... which the festival kicks off in Auckland, New Zealand on January 15th, 1999. Rocktropolis's Allstar magazine has a large report on this subject here. Here are just a few snippets of the article: Nile has written a letter to Australian Immigration Minister Phillip Ruddock requesting Manson be denied entry into Australia, claiming the band is a front for the political wing of the Satanic Church. Syracuse Show Plays On November 19th The Syracuse website features the final word about the sold out November 19th show that is to take place at the Landmark Theatre saying that the Syracuse fire and code inspectors walked through the Landmark Theatre Thursday giving the theater a tentative go-ahead for the shock-rock band to play Nov. 19. A spokesman for Syracuse Mayor Roy Bernardi said, "There's nothing they've seen so far that indicates the concert will be canceled." The new article speaks of Lawrence city commissioners had considered legislative means to block Sunday's concert, but there was not enough time to pursue such tactics. Also residents have already started complaining about the controversial rocker's presence in town. Issues such as this will be poping up all around the country and maybe other countries. The ones with all the hyper-digitally-manipulated diamonds, cash, dogs, limos, etc. Well, as a joke, they had the company design covers for two artists in this Master P fashion. One was Jewel and the other was Trent Reznor. It is a two page spread and the image is rather large in the magazine. I love the neclace... as well as the monkeys! When word broke out yesterday about the October 25th show, a local radio station 105.9 the lazer explained that the show sold out in 12 minutes... Updated October 22nd, 98 - 6:35am Exclusive News On Next Manson Video Okay, here's the news that we have on the next video to Mechanical Animals, "I Don't Like the Drugs, but The Drugs Like Me." (please credit SLS as the source of this info) I'm not going to show any of the graphics that I was sent, because if anything goes wrong because I showed them- I'll feel guilty of them not making the video... When the video is finished, we'll post the graphics and some other graphics as well... ok here's the deal on the video. last night my friend silo, who worked on the dopeshow video, gave me a call. the group he works with is making a few things for "I dont like the drugs...". one of the things he's working on are a set of flash cards to be shown at some point during the video. Several of them have words like "cocaine", "quaaludes", etc and then the others have black and white drawings on them. The cool part is silo asked me to draw the pictures. so all last night i was working on these illustrations to go on flash cards. I talked to him today and found out that his boss (not the client from the manson video) only used 3 of my drawings to give to the guys making the video. the ones he chose are the least creative on my part. the ones i liked the most incorporated the manson omega symbol which my friends boss didn't recognize. anyway i'm attaching the jpgs of the ones that weren't used, but i no longer have the rights to the ones that might be in the video. here is the list of flashcard images i had to draw: -vagina -pucker-sun -crack pipe (submitted to video) -sexual intercourse -pill (capsule) -pill (tablet) -rat (submitted to video) -rabbit (submitted to video) silo tells me that the ones his boss used instead of mine were not so great, and there is a chance the director/manson might decide not to use the flashcards at all. anyway i hope what i did makes it, if it does a cool thing that i added to the animal pics which prolly won't show up on the TV is that the rabbit and the rat both have manson eyes. on a more gossipy front. the video crew was supposedly all grouchy because they were all busting their ass trying to finish the video, while manson had gone off to have casual sex at a fancy hotel. i dont know if that means with rose or not. On another note, I've received word from a viewer saying that his friend and his dad envited him to be an extra in the new video. We can't disclose the location, sorry- so please stop asking. A West Australian MP is campaigning to her Attorney-General to make all the bands shows 18+ events. This poses a big problem, as they are one of the headline acts on next January's Big Day Out concert series. Also, a New South Wales MP is campaigning to the Federal Attorney-General to bar the band access to the country, period. Also on this band wagon is Rev. Updated October 21st, 98 - 6:55pm New Manson Concert Today, Ticketmaster lists a new manson concert that is to take place on October 25th. The tickets are to go on sale today at 6pm. Charlotte Concert Must Go On The November 10th Manson Concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, plays on because of First Amendment right.... This featured at the Charlotte.com website here... but there will be some extra quirks waiting.... The Coliseum Authority agreed today that the Marilyn Manson show must go on Nov. 10 in Charlotte. But in upholding the shock-rock band's First Amendment right to maybe rip up a Bible or sing about drugs, authority members trashed the show and agreed to look into a ratings system for future Charlotte concerts. After turning in a petition with several hundred signatures in support of banning Manson, Lori Thrift said the band would definitely be rated X. ""He dresses in women's lingerie,'' Thrift said, speaking with obvious scorn for the lead singer she said can't hold a microphone to her rock idol Bruce Springsteen. The seven-member authority capped a week of public debate over Manson by agreeing that the concert can't be stopped. The last time the city tried to ban a show from a public venue the hippie-oriented play, ""Hair,'' in 1971 a judge ruled for freedom of speech. So instead of censoring Manson, authority manager Mike Crum said they'll keep a close eye on what the band does when it plays to a sold-out Ovens Auditorium. Crum and Ovens manager Carole Thompson plan to take in the Manson concert Monday in Kansas City, Mo. They'll report back to the district attorney and police attorney, to set limits on the Charlotte show and see whether lawyers need to come to the concert in case the band crosses the line. Crum also said security will be tripled, at the promoters's expense, and that the band faces a $10,000 fine if it urges concert-goers to rush the stage. Only three people spoke at the authority meeting Thursday Thrift and Mindy Acuna against the concert and Fred Downs of Gastonia for letting the band play. ""Let freedom ring,'' he said. A packet of Manson information to the board included the names of a dozen or so people who called or write to protest the show. After blasting Manson a memo from Crum said they're ""long on image and short on talent'' the board instructed Crum to look into a rating system like the one that governs movies. Rating a concert in a public venur PG, R or even X will help parents make a judgment on what to let their children see, board members said. New Nothing News First off, Prick has a new album coming, if you read my September archives you'll find the name of the new album.... other news below is on the Bowling Green's next work and other issues... I spoke to the people at nothing today and they gave me some really interesting news! First off, they said the release date for The Bowling Green's "One Pound Note" is November 10. They said the delay is due to a sample clearance problem on one of the tracks. I asked for some info on the Caroline distribution deal too. I mentioned the speculation as to Interscope giving nothing trouble about releasing records they didn't think would sell but they said this wasn't accurate. They said that they never wanted to distribute the new Warp and Blue Planet stuff through Interscope because they knew none of it would move huge numbers and didn't want Interscope spending tons of money on a record they knew wouldn't return like a NIN or Manson would. This of course sounds like an official answer, but it could be very true at the same time. Look what happened with the Plug record when it got released. I had to call at least 10 record stores and then make a special trip to get a copy the day it was released. So it is quite likely it's true. Also, asked about the rumor going around that the reason Prick hadn't put anything out was because nothing didn't like the material or that Interscope wouldn't let nothing release it cause they didn't like it. They said this was bs and that Kevin was just doing his thing and taking his time to complete the record so he would be satisfied with it. More Manson Tour Problems These problems occur every Manson tour and since there is really nothing we can do, today you CAN vote at Charlotte's website here to see if the hype is really up (of course the the percentage leads 70% Manson), there's to be more problems on the way... Though Marilyn Manson practically feeds off this kind of publicity- among others, good or bad... Manson is known world wide because of issues such as these. So as the eyes of the media watch Manson play, they'll always be labled as the "Shock-Rocker Marilyn Manson". Even with his tour just around the corner, we know that his performances will consit of three acts... one of them including last year's performace of the Antichrist Superstar. So can this be the major obsetion that Syracuse Mayer Roy Bernardi's could be having? Maybe so. Now with this slight problem that is now breaking the news... Manson is receiving word that their November 10th show at Charlotte's Ovens Auditorium (holding 2,603 seats) is not pleased with their OLD habbits... such as thier anti-religious bent and bible tearing on stage. With that the coliseum officials will be attending a Manson concert some time soon in another city, so they can keep a 'progress report' on what the group's tour is like this year to inform Charlotte's Ovens Auditorium. There's also likely to be a hearing later today before the coliseum authority about this issue at 8:30 am... On another note, Manson's second video off Mechanical Animals, I Don't Like The Drugs; shoots off this Thursday and Friday. More news as the news progresses. Manson will be constructing a larger US tour.. The concert being held at the Tsongas Memorial Arena will have tickets availible for sale on October the 30th at 3:00 pm and i think that they are going to be availible through ticketmaster. This is the information i recieved when i called the Tsongas arena box office. Tickets for the Boston, November 22nd, Marilyn Manson show go on sale Friday October 30th at 3pm. The show starts at 7:30pm at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Ma. The american versions of Autechre,Plaid and Squarepusher are now released in the u.s. on nothing records. I saw them yesterday @ one of my favorite music stores. I also have some news on the manson/12 rounds show in kansas city. So my sources tell me there wil be a "secret show" in lawrence kansas a couple of nights before the show in k.c.Wich will feature manson and 12 rounds.lawrence is about 30 miles from k.c. Here's some more word about the discs.... Just got promos of Squarepusher's "Music Is Rotted One Note" Einsturzende Neubaten's "Ende Neu". Haven't listened to Neubaten yet, but the Squarepusher is a trip! It is really stripped of almost every electronic music style you can think of. Very jazzy, but all the instruments are real (no synthetics like on "Hard Normal Daddy") and Tom Jenkinson is credited with playing everything on the album. Not very long either since it clocks in at 48:30. Go to warprecords.com for more info. The artwork is on display there. Notes About Manson's Change to Venue, Arrow Hall Just a thought about why maybe, Manson changed his Toronto venue. FYI -- and this is just my opinion -- Arrow Hall was most likely used because it's very cheap compared to Massey. Updated October 16th, 98 - 2:25pm Update Of Manson @ The Viper Room Tonight Here's a quick update about some more information for those who would like to attend "Breakfast with Marilyn Manson" at the Viper Room in LA tonight... I just wanted to update (so you could update your readers) on the "Breakfast with Marilyn Manson" at the Viper Room. Tickets have not been given away. It is a wristband, lineup kind of situation. Doors open at 11pm, with lineups (I'm sure) occuring way before that. KROQ will distribute numbered wristbands, and then randomly draw numbers to see who gets in. So it's definitely worth it for the Manson fans out there to show up and try to get it -- they're filling it up with people who show up. I have a friend that is most likely going, if they do go... More News On Manson Hockey Jersey's The Weathermen sends word about another update on thier Manson Hockey Jersey's.... Just got word in from the company that produces tour goods for Marilyn Manson that the long sleeve shirts and Hockey Jerseys will be in next week. I should be shipping orders the minute they arrive either Thurs or Friday of next week. These were delayed because the items had to be hand finished, printed. Updated October 13th, 98 - 4:15pm Nothing Releases Update I was browsing the news groups this evening and I noticed a comment... ...and while we're on the subject, what happened to the Autechre, Plaid and Squarepusher releases which Evan insisted would be released on the 6th? I'm told that they were released, but a lot of stores never ordered them because of the distribution confusion. So you'll most likely see them this week... On another note, Squarepusher "Music Is Rotted One Note" (a new album, unrelated to "Big Loada") was released this past week on the 12th in the UK from Warp. The Nothing release was suppost to be out on the 13th but may have been delayed until the 20th due to artwork related problems. First the Mtv Music Video Awards, now men magazines. What could that mean, hmmm!? Well this simple, full page black nin ad is just as basic as the Mtv MVA commercial that aired on September 10th, but with out the famous nin logo. This full page black ad features the words 'ninetynine' in orange 'broken font' letters. Beneith the name is the famous 'nothing' logo we grow to love following the copyrights in small white print. Nothing extremely special about the ad, but I'm told Interscope wants to have about a 3 month advertising scheme before any major news takes place. We also feature the nin commercial that aired on mtv as well for those who haven't had a chance to listen to nin's latest music. Marilyn Manson confirms here that he will be will shooting his next new video for "I Don't Like The Drugs (but the drugs like me)" next week... I apologize for not believeing a rumored source a week ago, but it was still a strech when I was told that it came from someone stoned during their school lunch hour... anyways... still, that's not as bad as our (Jay and I) spring/summer source getting drunk and never sending our s.t.n. promo that was said to be [a] true/rumor from weeks of delays. I guess his source just got lucky... We will be shooting a video for "I don't like the drugs," next week. I will be directing this with Paul Hunter. Manson and Rose in Rolling Stone In the October 29th Rolling Stone issue, there is a front and back shot of Manson including his girlfriend, Rose McGowan. Updated October 12th, 98 - 12:00am NIN Ads In Men's Gear Mag Is Trent planning a head, does he have something major happening soon, we'll have to see! Anyhow, I was sent the wrong scan... but the image on the right is the cover of the magazine that features the NIN ad. I'm expecting the nin scan later today. In the November/December issue of the magazine Gear (a new men's magazine) there is a Nine Inch Nails ad on page 112. There is actually no mention of NIN at all on the ad, which is full-page. The entire page is black, with "ninetynine" in large orange letters in the center, in the traditional NIN font (backwards n's). At the bottom is the Nothing Records logo, and the obligatory small-font copyright info. Nothing more. I find it very interesting that Trent is advertising (in a men's magazine, no less) many months in advance of the release, and with such an extremely vague ad. Did the timing of the Bauhaus Resurrection tour this summer have anything to do with the fact that your influence spawned so many other acts that are cashing in on your legacy? I think that's part of the reclamation in a way. We're kind of reclaiming ourselves the part of the myth that was totally inaccurate. We're saying, "Look, this is not only what we were but what we are still, and what we may be again on albums." And there's the good children and the bad children, if you like. The Portisheads, The Smashing Pimplings, they're the good kids I'm talking about. The Soundgardens, Trickys, Bjorks. They're not imitating us at all, but we're part of their matrix of influence. I was watching the Sci-Fi channel Sunday morning an they aired a report about Manson on one of those C-Net shows. It mainly talked about the new site, and they had some different people opinions on them. They showed a bunch of pictures from the official site, and talked about it. There were a lot of clips from the Dope Show video, mostly the part with all the wires in that room, when they were on stage playing, and the end with the Goddess Bunny. It was also odd, that they showed Pogo twice as much as he appears in the video. They played "I want to disappear" in the back ground most of the time. They showed a bunch of clips from the on-line chat, which was the only way they showed any type of statement from Manson. They had 2 DJ's from San Francisco debating on whether he was a performance artist, or just out to make money. They talked to 2 fans, which i think were a pretty good choice. It was these 2 guys, and other than the fact that they were both wearing all black, they were pretty normal. There were only 2 mistakes I could notice. They said he was 28, and had body piercings, and they also implied that he was only out to make money and shock people. Overall, it was pretty good for a show about computers. Marylin Manson was interviewed for the English rock magazine Kerrang this week. I can't type up the whole article (a bit lazy you see), but thought i'd mention that the band have covered the Guns and Roses song "One in a million". Manson then had a go at Axl Rose for appologising to the people he had offended with the songs lyrics. When asked if he (manson) was worried about people having a go at him for using the lyrics, manson replied, "Go bother Axl, he wrote the song, its not my fucking problem". He went on to generally diss Zim Zum, saying he didnt bother writing about him in his book, as he wasn't worth mentioning. Updated October 10th, 98 - 12:15am Manson vs. Scott Putesky Settled Outside of Court Allstar magazine reports that, ex-Marilyn Manson guitarist Scott Mitchell Putesky (the artist formerly known as Daisy Berkowitz) have recently settled out of court according to David Codikow, Manson's attorney... from thier $15 million in damages back in September of 1997. Manson's attorney states, "As of yesterday, (October 8th, 98) everything has been resolved. Nobody won. The terms of the resolution are confidential." Sources of Manson's record label, Interscope Records was strongly suggesting that Manson settle with Putesky, who was suing the band, Manson and Codikow. Codikow denied that Interscope pressured them to settle stating, "I have no idea what you are talking about." Mechanical Animals Picture Disc Weathermen Records recieved word yesterday that their overseas importer stated that the first limited edition picture disc... collectors record off the Mechanical Animals release was announced last afternoon. The picture disc is to be a two sided release with photos on both sides. Tracks are to be announced soon and that chances are high that it's for Dopeshow. This item will be released In the UK on November 10-12, and that the Weathermen should have the item ready to ship November 15th (there's that number again) if all goes according to plan. Weathermen have also learned that dates are not chisled in stone just yet. Those who are interested in prepurchasing the item now can for only 10.99 at thier website here. I just got word that The World Wrestling Federation has reportedly acquired the services of Marilyn Manson for next month's "Survivor Series" pay per view offering. It is rumored that Manson will "back up" the tag team The Headbangers in their match with the tag team The Oddities who always come out with Detroit rap group Insane Clown Posse. Ginger Fish was at last week's live WWF Monday Night Raw event. In an unrelated note, Motley Crue is performing at the October 20th WWF Raw tapings, which will be aired on October 26th. Anyways, I gave Interscope a ring yesterday to find out what sense I could make of this since the guy claimed that his information was legit as well as "very" reliable. I found out yesterday afternoon that LATER this evening there's to be a meeting held which Interscope is to discuss the next song to be the second single and video off 'Mechanical Animals'. I'm told that Manson has his choice of "I don't Like The Drugs (but the drugs like me)" as the next single as well as the video while the label has their own opinion. I'll be following up with this information as much as I can later this evening to see what has been chosen. Personally, I'm shooting for "Rock Is Dead" as the second single and video for its sophisticated sounds and tweeks of textures ambiance, overlayed with Manson's progressive voice that cranks up the pace with tough beats and driven noise... Updated October 5th, 98 - 12:00am Manson On Tv.com Earlier in the day of Sunday, there was a teen news program (run by 20 so-year-olds I believe) that airs every sunday on abc called "tv.com" (ironicly they have a website with that name just that as well, tv.com) Well yesterday they aired a 7 minute news report about Manson's new album, "Mechanical Animals." It was a well done report, from what I had a chance to see. Many issues were talked about, such as Manson's 'new' glam look, his new website (marilynmanson.net), opinions from fans and radio dj's.... I was only able to tape that last 2 minutes of the show and encode. it. but what I encoded is better than nothing... You can download the news report here in Real Video format... Truth Of WWF Featuring Manson People We have a cool scoop... of just what went down the other day at WWF from a Assistant Art Director who works there, very cool. I happen to work for the WWF as Assistant Art Director for the WWF Magazine and am also a huge fan of Marilyn Manson (saw them 14 times, including a few of their opening NIN shows and also met them numerous times over the past few years). Anyway, when I read the news today on your SLS site about Twiggy being at the WWF RAW taping in Detroit, MI on Sept. 28th, I felt I had to straighten out the facts. Twiggy did NOT attend the RAW taping in Detroit, MI on Sept. 28th. Drummer, Ginger Fish was the only member of Marilyn Manson who attended that event and even attended the following night for another taping. He is a huge WWF fan and was backstage getting autographs from his fave WWF wrestlers during the show and even wore a D-X tee to the event! Hence, that is why he was not filmed and seen on TV when Jerry Lawler mentioned that a member of Marilyn Manson was there somewhere in the crowd. Jerry Lawler had no clue as to what member of the band Marilyn Manson was actually there as he is lucky he even knows who Marilyn Manson is! I think he knows who they are mainly due to the fact that the WWF wrestling duo, The Headbangers, happen to love Marilyn Manson and even used to wear Marilyn Manson concert tees when wrestling in the past. And for the record, a WWF co-worker talked to Ginger Fish and said Ginger had a great time at the WWF event and he was very nice to everyone. Something also tells me that I don't think this will be the last time you will see the words Marilyn Manson and the WWF mentioned in the same sentence... Friday i was in school and there is an educational program about the latest news around the world. it is a 10 to 15 minute program that reflects with teenagers and the world. the station or program we have to watch everyday is called Channel 1. well i was doing my homework while that was on they were doing a story on gamblers in casinos. well one gambler was speaking and all of sudden the beginning of " the becoming" was playing and then around 10 seconds later they played the full song to "a warm place"...both off of the downward spiral album. just thought you would like to know about some nine inch nails being played on tv. Manson Website Reports Next Manson Single I've received word that a website claims to know the next single and video to Mechanical Animals. All and all, it seems fishy to me and to far stretched to be true, saying that he's "very" reliable source. Crow 3 Back On, But Will There Be NIN!? Some info from the other day about the Crow 3, in case people are interested in what's happening to it now that Zombie's doing his own thing. Well, according to Dark Horizons (darkhorizons.com) there will be a Crow 3 movie. Here's the info: Despite all the speculation which insisted it was over, Miramax has anounced that a third Crow film will finally go ahead. Titled "The Crow: Salvation", the film begins production early 1999, is being directed by Bharat Nalluri ("Killing Time") and written by Chip Johannessen (TV's "Millenium"). "Halloween: H20" co-writer Matt Greenberg will produce, alongside Edward R. Pressman, Jeff Most, and the Weinstein brothers. No word on the plot as yet, though the film should be set to come out in Winter 1999. Of course, no word yet on whether those early rumors that NiN would help out with the soundtrack still hold, but my guess is that they don't. Thanks a lot to: xott. NY Times Manson Article There is another manson article that is featured in the NY Times.. there's MUCH to say on here... you can read the interview here I found this article, I don't know if you've seen it, but I thought it might be of interest. This was a full-page spread from the Times, Sunday, September 20, 1998. It talks about Manson and Korn and overanalyzes the lyrics and message from a very conservative slant. Thanks a lot to: Escapizm. Vrenna Plans to Guest On Tweaker New news on Chris Vrenna from Allstar magazine... Chris Vrenna, producer/ programmer (Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Green Day, Hole, Rasputina) and ex-Nine Inch Nails drummer, is lining up some notable special guests for his Almo Sounds debut as Tweaker. Already locked in for the concept album, which will feature various vocalists on different tracks singing the emotional history of a character named Elliott, are Craig Wedren, singer/ guitarist of Shudder to Think, and Buzz Osborne (aka King Buzzo), singer/ guitarist of the Melvins. Vrenna himself isn't getting in front of the mike; he's writing, producing, and performing on the disc, which will be released early next year and is tentatively titled The Attraction to All Things Uncertain.
