Nine Inch Nails: Band Member Biographies

Nine Inch Nails is an American rock band. Founded in 1988, they are known as an industrial rock band, but they straddle many different genres of music. Nine Inch Nails differs from many bands in that after Trent Reznor (the lead singer, songwriter and instrumentalist) writes the album, he finds different bands to play it the way he wants. In other words, Trent Reznor is the only constant band member of Nine Inch Nails. Inspired by Prince, for his first album, Reznor played every single instrument for his songs except the drums. This article traces Trent Reznor's biography.
Trent Reznor's early life
Trent Reznor was born in 1965 in Mercer, Pennsylvania. His parents divorced when he was young. After the divorce, he lived with his maternal grandparents. He began playing the piano when he was 5 years old. In high school, Reznor learned to play the saxophone and the tuba. He was also heavily involved in theater and was voted "Best in Drama" for his portrayal of Judas in "Jesus Christ Superstar."
Reznor's music career
While at Allegheny College, Reznor joined a local band. After only a year in college, he dropped out and decided to pursue a career in music. He packed up his things and moved to Cleveland, Ohio. In Cleveland, Reznor received a job at a music studio. There, he began what would turn into Nine Inch Nails' earlier tracks. Many labels responded favorably to Reznor's demo. After signing with TVT, Reznor released Nine Inch Nails' debut album in 1989.
Nine Inch Nails is renowned for its unique sound and outstanding music ability. Founded by Trent Reznor, who remains the only constant member of the band, it is still at the cutting edge of the music industry.
