Trent Reznor Collaboration Partners Through The Years

January 5, 2012

In his early years, Reznor helped to launch Marilyn Manson's career. He produced Manson's first album, "Portrait of an American Family," as well as tracks on several subsequent albums. Reznor's dark style played heavily into his production, helping to shape Manson's presentation. In the more recent past, he produced a number of Jane's Addiction tracks. He also co-produced an album with Saul Williams in 2007. In a seeming departure from style, Reznor performed back-up vocals on a Tori Amos track, "Past the Mission," in 1994. He also worked with Busta Rhymes and Josh Wink on one-time musical projects.

Besides his work with his well-known band, Nine Inch Nails, Reznor has formed other project bands. He worked with artists Danny Lohner, Maynard James Keenan and Atticus Ross for ten years using the name "Tapeworm." Unfortunately, no official releases were ever made from that project. Recently, he formed a new band with his wife and Atticus Ross called "How to Destroy Angels." Their initial release was a download-only album in 2010, and they produced more music in 2011. Hopes are high that this band continues to perform.

Besides his musical work, Reznor is active as a music label founder, a composer of music for video games and writing scores for film (including the score for "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"). There is no end in sight to his creative works, and he remains an artist to admire.
